| Inspection Education & Training This is a general forum for inspectors to discuss their educational experience, and to ask questions of InterNACHI's Education Committee. This forum is dedicated to the memory of InterNACHI member and educator Gerry Beaumont. Gerry was an avid proponent of education for inspectors and will be sorely missed. |

"I believe ASHIs priority is to provide quality CE, and properly trained inspectors, prior to marketing ASHI members as "Certified Members" to the public"
Well, at least in ASHI's home state of Illinois, you are failing miserably, as documented in a previos post. On the other hand, at least in this state, NACHI is fulfilling that goal. Jeff;
And, at least around here, makes the 'candidates' shlep ladders for little or no wages. I am a very good inspector. Witness my clients, their lawyers ("Yours are the most complete and detailed inspection reports I have seen in my 20+ years as a Real Estate lawyer. - Lee Perres, Top Chicago RE lawyer), and Realtors. In ASHI, I would still be a 'candidate'. Maybe they are just scared about who is behind them. I had a recent encounter with an ASHI member (full member). He started yelling at me for working in 'his' area (he lives close to me) and taking away 'his' clients and using 'his' Realtors. I calmly tried to explain to him that we work in a free market with compitition. He is free to do a better job than me and get more business. He is also free to raise his prices to the level mine are at (he charges about 3/4 of what I charge). He retorted that I was a robber and a thief and stormed off. ASHI inspectors... Go figure.
