There was an issue in NYS recently. Unless the class is specifically approved by New York State, and carries a NYS, DOS Home Inspector approval code listed on the state web site, it is NOT Accepted by NYS. The state is issuing fines of up to $ 2,000 for non-compliance from the NYS, Dept. of State for different licensees.

Once I register for a program, I understand there are no refunds permitted. There is limited seating for each program. There is mandatory attendance required for each class. Each student must be on time. Each student will receive a completion certificate at the conclusion of each seminar and their name and license # will be presented to the State as required by the NYS, Dept. of State. We also retain records at the school as mandated by NYS. Handouts, materials and/or manuals are included in each class. There is no exam for any of the above programs. The above seminars may be endorsed or approved by a variety of National Organizations. Each course specialty will determine the affiliation or endorsement. Our Environmental Courses are IAC2 Approved. Our Inspection Courses are recognized for NACHI CEU Credit. All courses listed are also approved by the Housing Inspection Foundation. For those who may not be aware... the problem really comes when, after signing a HI license renewal affadavit, where the inspector attests that he/she has taken the required approved CEUs, that the State then audits them, and it is discovered that they may NOT have enough credits.

Unfortunately, it is up to the inspector to verify that the classes they took count for credit, if they plan to use their attendance for such purposes.

Once an inspector signs that affadavit, they attest that the credits they claim they have are, indeed APPROVED. When they fall short, the state consideres it a fraudulent act and FINES the inspector $2000 if they want to keep their license. This is in addition to being required to actually make up the credits missing. Until the educational threshohd is then reached, and the fine is paid, the inspector's license is suspended.

That is why we are Pleased to state, OFFICIALLY each of our HI CE classes listed here ARE NYS, DOS, Home Inspector CE Approved!!!

That is why each and every course we offer in NYS carries a NYS, Dept. of State Approval code with each certificate presented to each student.
Joe and I have spoken about this confusion in the past. NACHI Meetings are great, and are approved for NACHI CE, but not for NYS Home Inspection CE. All we were attempting to make sure everyone was aware of is the fact that in order to offer approved courses in NYS, they must be pre-approved, which I am happy to say our classes are.
Our courses are APPROVED BY NYS, Dept. of State, Diviosn of Licensing Services. This way every student who attends our classes received NYS credit in addition to NACHI credit!!
