Inspection Education & Training This is a general forum for inspectors to discuss their educational experience, and to ask questions of InterNACHI's Education Committee. This forum is dedicated to the memory of InterNACHI member and educator Gerry Beaumont. Gerry was an avid proponent of education for inspectors and will be sorely missed.

I for one looked at both Places to join , I did not like what ASHI offered and joined this one and i am proud of it. This is a opportunity for us gain more knowledge from experience. I see more and more ASHI members coming over to our side if there is a side. As I see it Home Inspectors no matter what organization they belong to can benefit us all. Let's see what they bring to the table.I have read both pros and cons on this post, Russell did point out things we all think about. I do believe these two fellows should have a chance and be welcome.
With that said I am sure when they proof their loyalties to this organization in providing a first-class education program that we are used to, others will accept them with open arms.
BTW I am sure there is plenty of us to watch.

It is easy to jump ship from one organization to the other, when the other organization does not hold any water. Hiring the captains of the Titanic does not make sense.

Gee Nick its all better now. Thanks. NOT!!!

Nick, you fail to see the point and you always will. Why? Because you always think with a NICK first mentality. Whats good for NICK. Not what is the RIGHT thing to do. I was once told by a very well respected guy that the road side is filled with people you have used and thrown to the side.

I never gave that comment much thought, but I love it when you prove others right.

]These guys have done NOTHING for NACHI and they deserve the chance to make hundreds of thousands of dollars becase we should "Give them a chance" and "they are good guys." NICE! What about spreading that money amongst your MEMBERS who have gotten you here? O wait, let me guess. It does not serve NICK.

You press this, become an inspector teacher thingy we will pack them in. When I read this, I thought great idea! Inspectors teaching inspectors! Come to learn "SCHOOLS" are on this list. So it really was NEVER about helping INSPECTORS, it was about ....come on, guess.....whats good for NICK.

People actually sit here and want these two to sign super secret documents stating they are gonna be true to NACHI...Are you freakin serious? Its not about who is GOING TO be true...its about WHO IS, true.

He brags about these guys...I have no idea who they are and could care less. Its not about THEM its about the Joe Farsettas and those like him. God damn if there was ever a guy who protected NACHI, its him. (Not that I agree with everything), but he does have passion.

Nick, stop and think how many people you could help with your 50,000 SQ foot building. How many inspectors may be getting a little too old to inspect and have a fountain of knowledge to share. Just try this...what's is the right thing to do for the members who have supported this organziation through the years.

Its not about the money, its about what's the right thing to do...the right thing is to help those who need help. Don't support those who's latest accomplish was to take a multi million dollar organization to the next level of a multi thousand dollar organization...

They come to us from the ASHI cesspool and...of course, they bare the stench. They failed in making a go of it at ASHI and, more than likely, will fail here, as well.

Still...if Nick wants to give them a shot at making improvements to our program, what's the harm? It's Nick's money. Let them convince you, me and other members why we should buy what they sell. If it's good...we win. If it's bad....they lose, again.
Are you serious? Its NICKS money? Never knew that. I thought this was a not for profit organization and they money was to be used for the betterment in the educational aspects for Inspectors.

O wait...that one short sentence states it ALL. That is the mentality, its NICKS money. Nice..

So when I give to the Red Cross it really Marsha Johnson Evans money?

I learn something new everyday...

Casey and O'Malley are chasing the money. They sold ITA had a five year no compete clause the minute that was up they are back. They went to ASHI and that seems to have failed to they are after the next one chasing the almighty dollar.

It is Nick's organization so it is Nick's money. The average member does not have much to say. Nick listens when he feels like it. I have been telling Nick for years he needs to get off that mountain and spend some time with his members. He is turning a deaf ear to that request. I can remember a few times where he did listen to members, especially when members banned together.

Far be it from anyone frequenting this message board to seek to profit from their skills.

But what escapes the Nicks mind is that numerous people come on this message board without a SINGLE question (or very few). So why do they come? TO HELP. To help? Why would Jeff Pope, James Braun, James Bushard, Dan Bowers, Gary Farnsworth, Jeffery Jonas, Roy Cook, Brian Kelly, Bob Elliot...just to name some of the many (sorry if I didn't name you), why do they come here? I see them ASK very few questions. I see them answer many. Give different points of view some agreed with and others not. But at least its a different view and a different aspect.

Do these guys get paid? Is there something I am missing? Do they get special favors? Why do they do this? My guess would be to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. TO SHARE years of knowledge without ASKING anything in return. NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH. NIL. ZIP. So these guys get overlooked for any type of request should they WANT to be an instructor?

Where have these guys been, Casey and O'Malley? What have they contributed to NACHI? They were pro ASHI all the way. Nick ASHI is dying so they are jumping ship, its not out of choice its out of survival necessity.

I am NOT saying ASHI people are bad, good or indifferent. The more the merrier in my book. But my point being is that there are a TON of guys who put sweat equity in this organization and were overlooked and its just wrong.

I see Russell's Point Also I guess my questions was there any Member Offered or wanted the positions . I do not mind anyone coming along and doing Courses to better all of us. But if there was Members who wanted the job and were qualified did they get over looked? And if so why?
Seems simple enough to answer.

OK. Done.

Members who have some school administration skills or experience and want to come here (Boulder, Colorado) to help us build the House of Horrors and launch an international inspection school system... speak up now by posting on this thread.

Apparently one of the criteria is that you can't have been a member of diploma mill ASHI.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person who is interested in making a change in their life/career.

If you are an old inspector at one time or another you probably belonged to ASHI. I would think as long as you contributed to something that helped out NACHI that is all that matters.
