| Inspection Education & Training This is a general forum for inspectors to discuss their educational experience, and to ask questions of InterNACHI's Education Committee. This forum is dedicated to the memory of InterNACHI member and educator Gerry Beaumont. Gerry was an avid proponent of education for inspectors and will be sorely missed. |

Hi. Joe;
Nice to see that you are still in the picture, and would reccommend to anyone your expertise in this trade. This is a good reccommendation to all Inspectors including myself, and will definetly attend your seminar in Portland, Maine if you ever come back. Thanks for all the good information you have provided to this board. Marcel |

Joe;
We don't do code. Increased liability, you know. |

You are absolutely right! I will develop a course as follows: Learn how to recognize existing electrical defects and "bootleg" wiring. A basic introduction to electrical fire and shock hazards for home inspectors designed to expand the knowledge and awareness of even the most experienced home inspector,while at the same time,being practical enough for those who are relatively new to the home inspection industry. This course is designed to provide the knowledge you need to safely conduct your work. When inspections and installations reveal errors, or when serious life safety fire and shock hazards are found, corrective actions must be taken to remedy the problem immediately without any fanfare or question. Thanks so much for your comment |

Over the next few weeks I will also be putting together a set of quizzes to test as well as teach the HI to look for many of these things. It will be in multiple choice and will have explanations as well to help educate but wont be just giving code....
I believe in an approach that tests you....explains to you and then teaches you...hopefully in the coming weeks you will like the quizzes from basic theory on up to electrical safety as it pertains to the HI. Always feel free to debate a question and nothing is learned without questioning the person teaching....fire away...Now joe when I post these don't go giving away the answer fella...lol..... Paul W.
