James,

Exactly my point........while I have a opinion that seems to be bashed by whom I wont mention.......still the teaching is in the teacher.

While I think it is a bonus that the person doing the speaking has all those qualities....they also happen to be in the trade as well is a important bonus and again RARE in any speaking field.....

But the opinion I gave Mr. Tedesco stands....My personal belief is for someone to be passionate and appealing in a given trade and have the gift or ability to convey it...when if the subject matter MAY start to tread into water it should not go...in an effort to keep it less technical and more generic is a challenge....

i also did not mean the example in full context......teaching electrical issues is not BRAIN SURGERY as some would want you to believe and I am more than 100% sure the people you mention could do the same classes..in fact I know Gerry could.....I have spoken to the man a few times and enjoy our chats........I was speaking more on a after the class technical understanding and giving additional information type of basis....

My point was........even someone with my experience was being QUESTIONED....not so much on the board but in a e-mail...........look if anyone who has read my 2,500+ posts of electrical jargon thinks I am not actually qualified...so be it...

I just DONT think someone should use the board to throw STONES simply because it dips in their pocket book to have competition.

Actually...I was speaking of the NCT Events and the wider picture of Electrical Training....not just to the HI industry.

EXACTLY........it is rare to find electrical ( or any trade ) speakers that can convey........thats one of the MAIN reasons I do it......and I actually have one person to thank for helping me develope that NEW METHOD......Mr. Will Decker.....of course we had been drinking heavy but his tip on the country boy, down home approach sank in...

That someone's lack of bookings has more to do with his demonstrated lack of respect for our profession than his competition. I can say that, first hand, having been the last to invite him to a chapter meeting.

State Reps have been removed from the "Education Committee" forum. I'm thinking that state reps maybe should all be ON the education committee.

They will be. Stand by for more infrmation. The commiittee in its present form will be disbanded, and re-formed with a charter sometime next week.

All chapter presidents or their designees will be automativcally included. States which require an educational administrator will appoint one (or one plus an alternate) through the chapter's membership.

Educators will be invited and serve in an advisory role.

John, Blaine, and Keith wil also be invited and participate in an advisory role.

Looks like maybe R.Myers did me a favor by deciding I had "too much on my plate" to serve as the state rep. Not that I actually DID, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. *shrug*
