Do you mean a trailer or mobile home? Around here a manufactured home usually refers to a modular home.

Hi Matthew,

The term manufactured home relates to any steel chassis factory built structure installed after June of 1976, prior to that these structures were called modile homes, a trailer is something towed behind a truck it isn't a home.

A modular home is a factory stick built structure without a seperate chassis, and falls under local building codes not HUD codes.

BTW could you please edit your post as not to give away the correct answer until tomorrow.

thanks

Gerry

well you cannot bond the water pipes cause they're plastic, which is nice if they freeze in the winter; they just swell. How come the siding on my house is bonded? I checked it when I installed a new flood light. Is it a bad thing to use it as the third wire ground?

George, not all manufactured homes have plastic pipes

I presume it to be a metal sided structure, in which case this is correct.

As Jerry Peck would say, "Yes", bonding should not take the place of an intentional ground.
