YOu name it. If it requires typing you can use DSN to do it. I am also a licensed Public Adjustor so I can use it for that, cover letters, business letters, point papers, correspondence, files, lesson guides, outlines, research papers, emails, even here on the board, virtually everything. Version 10 is reported to be even easier to use and take less training time for it to learn your voice as it is now keyed more on the English language rather than your voice so you do have to be careful about what you say (curse words) when using it because it will end up in your report or paper. It is reported to be 40% faster for response and accuracy.

okay Robert Elliott, Are you ready?

I have not had much success in dictating directly onto this bulletin board in the past. Dictating directly into other programs has been a little bit slow and inaccurate in the past.

Not anymore!

I dictated some stuff using my old profiles which always had problems in certain areas. Those problems are now gone. Straight out of the box, this thing is far superior than version 9.

Just need to fine-tune things now

I'll spare you Robert, and I'll keep it short!
Oh, by the way, I've had several instances where the program changed my wording on me but the result was the same or better than I dictated. I'll have to research this a little bit more.

Goodnight!

Not 100% I need it since I only use it for Reports but , let me know if you also find it much better.

That 40% faster and more accurate is referring to as opposed to version 9 which was about 50% improvement over version 8. Let's put it this way. It is a hellava lot more accurate and faster than I can type. I am getting ready to load my version 10 right now. BBL

I found this very helpfull but the problem I had with this was that if I got more than 20 feet away from my computer it stopped due to loss of signal. I am trying to see if this is also blue tooth compatable but also am trying to understand if this technology could be integrated into my www.Homegauge software program? I don't think it can as I would like to use it because I would love to be able to walk through as house or better yet when I am in a crawl space be able to dictate what I am seeing and taking pictures off. If we ever get to that type of technology I am all for it and will be first in line for it.
Mark, the guys using voice dictation here are doing it back at home or driving in the car, not on site. There's too many problems on site, like you mentioned.

Yes the first word that was not capitalized is a thing that happens frequently when you dictate directly into another program. I saw that, but I didn't correct it.

The difference in versions are:
There are more formatting options in the business applications version. Filling out forms and special dictation applications were more complex symbols are used etc.
The home inspector is basically telling a story and only needs basic dictation requirements with standard punctuation
. There are more bells and whistles with the extra hundred dollar version (which we don't need).

You may not be able to use blue tooth or voice recorder with the standard edition.

I know I am cheap, and never would have bought the premium edition unless there were a few other advantages not coming to memory right now.

Mike try this link for a better comparison.
