Yes sir I did!

I am busier than a one armed paper hanger!

I will likely be getting back with you on that.
Dominic & I are communicating and may get something going to make us guys (control freaks!) lives a bit easier. Hang in there!

By the way, I purchased my program licence first thing in the morning and had 2 reports from the previous day out by noon with HIP! It wasn't perfect, but it worked! That included loading, upgrading two versions, modifying and using the software to it's potential!

I think that says something for Dominic's efforts!
At the time he was busy in meetings ect... Still I managed to get my reports out on time!

How deep into a web site will the web critters crawl?

Well, I have a site with a million pages and they've indexed a few hundred thousand. There's no set limit. The idea is to keep the site shallow though (see the SEO article in Marketing about this or on my site) so they have an easier time finding it.

Think of it like a tree. You want all your pages to stay as close to the trunk as possible. You dont want branches growing from branches going on and on where the only way to get to a leaf is to travel 10 branches (links) first.

That's what I thought. Nice analogy; particularly relevant to me. Thanks.

I saw a spider yesterday at the San Diego Zoo that could probably eat pdf files since it eats birds.

Good question, though.

One can also do one's own submissions to the search engines, so one could submit a PDF if one wanted to. Whether or not the search engines accept the might be the deciding factor.

Some of the search engines will include pdf's in their index, yes. I know Google does.

Do the creepy crawlers look for the word "links" on the home page, or do they know how to read the underlying link regardless of what the word is? I'm presuming the latter, but does it help to actually have the word "links" on the home page when one is linking to other sites?

No, actually it would be better to say Home Inspection Sites, or something else that's related to the site. They know it's a link because of the actual code that makes up the link which looks like
<a href="www.homeinspectorpro.com">Home Inspector Pro</a>

The above is "a hyperlink reference" to www.homeinspectorpro.com, the text that will be displayed to the viewer is Home Inspector Pro. The a href is what the spider looks for.
