At one point MS themselves even lost track of what was in the CORE of the OS due to their secretive ways. They continually claim that 2000, XP then Vista was improved and/or a new CORE but the same problems occur over and over again. Seems to be many of the same issues as the old CORE had.

Dominic is correct as there are always alternatives in the "Open Source" world. As a matter of fact there is an exceptional Open Source editing package called Kompozer http://kompozer.sourceforge.net/ . It is outstanding and I love it. They bill it as a full functioning alternative to Front Page. The beauty is if there is a problem with it there are thousands of Open Source Techies out there writing corrections for it.

They are actually your, and everyone else's billions, when you charge as much as they do for simple office applications (that are full of bugs and problems too) and use monopolistic techniques to force it on the masses then it is the billions made off the masses. The biggest problem is that Bill did not start donating money until he was bashed by the public for not doing so. Now that he's been doing it for a few years people have forgotten about the days where there was no donating. In fact his wife is the one who pushes the great charities and such.

Yep, That's what I remember.

I'll bet he spends less in donations than he would have from the continued harassment by AGs and lawsuits.
