Check my post on the canidian inspectors thread for a detailed rant about gateway.
I used a dell laptop for three years, The service was the best. Fast, efficient and accurate. Fixed it once, fixed it right. Would have bought a dell tablet but they do not provide them. So I bought a gateway. It has cut an hour off on site time and another hour off the editing and printing time. Howerver service from gateway is nonexistant. From dell to gateway is like going from heaven to hell. I will never buy another gateway product. PS had to disable the wireless net work. the gateway crashed every time it tried to connect via wireless. Wire connection works OK. Vern I agree. I bought mine through Costco, and the service provider changed in Canada, and it seemed like the US people and Canadian people never talked to each other. I had a hard disk crash, and it was a 4 month drag out battle under warranty to get a replacement.
The service warranty supposedly included onsite replacement, which never happened. It seemed like trying to reach any person including letter writing to the president of the company about their lousy service was in vain. Like you say I switched from Dell and after my Gateway experience went back to Dell.
