I meant no disrespect to your software Dominec as I know it is worth more than you charge. Just seems this is becoming a bit of a circus.

I suggest anyone wondering which report has a better look....Yes that is all that matters in the end, view the finished product and decide which is worth more.

Nobody talks much about that aspect ,but if you read my above post you will relise that a checklist is the fastest, yet nobody uses them now in days. Hmmm I wonder why/

You wanna market baby ?

Those reports that go to Brokers end up in offices for all the other Agents to see.

Which one do you want sitting around?
Think they care how you made it ?

Hippies got the edge man...they got the edge...no doubt about it.
May the best bid win and second is ...well it is second.

This auction is not off of HIP's website, which would be totally different, but is actually started by Nick. I was just trying to offer another product so that more then one inspector would get a great price for some software that they need.

For those inspectors that think that HIP is the ONLY PRODUCT out there and is MILES ahead of everyone else and is the ONLY company that supports their product....well.....I think that is unfair to all of the other vendors out there that have great products and do great support and have spent years and years developing a great product and have many loyal customers.

I think what has not been mentioned (even by Dominic) is that HIP is a program for inspectors by inspectors. Every template in the program, and many more that are available on the HIP message board are designed by an inspector. There is nothing "boilerplate" about this program. I know this because a couple of months ago I personally took the narratives from 14 different inspector created templates and combined them to make the current default template in the program. Inspectors also create all the intro documents and descriptive text.

I think this is becoming a circus because we HIP users are a community, an inclusive community. We welcome all to contribute and we all have skin in the game. For this reason we also protect our own. We also welcome all into the community, because everyone has something to say as long as it is constructive. We are all very proud of the fact that Dominic has given us a platform to be creative and help build this industry.

The inspector contributions to the program and to the website hosting also helps keep the costs down.

Good Words.
It is almost like an open resource program.

Would it not be better to start your own thread and see what the perceived value is?

My impression is that you are not confident in its market value ,if you have a need to latch on to this threads Thunder.
Imagine if the role was reversed?
Did you consult with Dominic before doing this?

My guess would be no.

What if he was going to do the same thing before you posted?
He is like that.

All of the main home inspection products out there have been created by inspectors or with inspectors....Russell is a home inspector(HomeGauge)...Carl is a home inspector(3D)....Will had an inspector on staff(Palm-Tech)...even Lorne at InspectVue had a home inspector as a partner. We started 12 years ago with an inspector that started NAHI and was one of the founding fathers of ASHI.

All the software mentioned above is also not "boilerplate" solutions...they all have the ability to customize the narratives to your need.

I am NOT trying to say anything bad about HIP at all but I AM trying to defend the other products out there that it seems a lot of HIP users have a misconception about.

I will not drift this thread off of what it was intended to be anymore so this will be my last post here on this subject...if someone wants to continue this discussion I would recommend starting a new thread.

Pay no attention to Bob Jeff he gets a little carried away at times.

When I started my plan was to use a PDA and your software is perfect for that.

I decided after doing a few inspections on my PDA that it wasn't the direction I wanted to go.

Others consider it a great solution and I think that's it great that we have so many choices with great software and great support.

I have talked to many who are very happy with your software and wouldn't be without it.

Just curious but why switch to a cumbersome Tablet when a PDA is small and easy to carry?

I Didn't like the 4" screen.

I still use the smart phone/PDA but not for inspecting.

I also don't carry my tablet around with me very often relying mostly on my camera.

My PDA has a camera and my hope was to do it all on the fly but that didn't work out for me.

I've seen Jeff's product in action and was impressed.

If it helps, circus is over.
