Default Software

Does anyone use Palm-Tech report software? If so, what is your input? I am looking at different report writing software and came across this one. Thanks

Tony,
Palm-Tech has been around for many years and I know them very well. It is one of the examples of software I call true-inspection software...which means it was built from the ground up to be used in the field to collect the inspection data as you are doing your inspection and not as reporting software to be used after the inspection. It eliminates the need to reenter your data later. It is the closest software to ours in my opinion.

It it is a matter of opinion (mine being very biased)...but I think our software has a much cleaner and easier interface when collecting the data on a handheld device. We have been at it longer then Palm-Tech on the PocketPC devices. We have reference data available during the inspection, we can more easily duplicate and/or rename sections and items on the fly, we handle comments better by being able to group them and have drop downs inside of comments, we have the ability to tag photos as you are doing the inspection so that the pictures automatically are inserted in the final report in that location with no manual placing later or resizing..those are just a few I know of off hand....I don't spend a huge amount of time looking at other software and picking them apart....I would rather concentrate on our customer base and making sure we do what makes sense for them.
