Donna, I called today about the android app and the girl I talked to just said it should be available before the first of the year. How do I get the pre-release? I'm going on vacation and would love to "mess" with it in my spare time.

Actually just send in a ticket to tech support asking about it. You don't even have to be a test drive member (although more members are always welcome)- Test Drive members already got early betas of it and updates. You do need a current version of 3D though to be able to interface with the mobile apps.

We also were able to add the previewing options to the Android app after all.

Please, please, please work on an iPhone and iPad app. I have used 3D for 9 years and love it. It would be REAL nice to have it on my Apple products.

Get yourself a present and pick up an inexpensive alternate.
Inspection businesses are never cookie-cutter, so rather then limiting people to heavily locked down single-style iOS type devices, Android and Windows Phone 7 now provide a huge variety of form factor (plus server available from ALL the major carriers), so there's something out there that can work nicely for everyone. Some inspectors perfer certain phones, others prefer tablets (the 7" tablet seems to be a real sweet spot for many), while others have told us they like even using cheap 5" MP3/video player devices to do inspections with Phone3D.

With the latest mobile advancements, no more need to manual drag and drop or click in images, or bookmark spots for them to match up later on your regular computer. Now just take your photo directly into your report right where you want it on your phone or tablet, and include as many photos as needed for that item. Do it on site right then and there, and skip the extra steps! Users are reporting real nice time savings.

Not only do the new Android and Windows Phone 7 devices that have been out for months now work great to take and insert photos or signatures directly into reports where you want them, but also don't forget that 3D Inspection Systems's Free apps for Android tablets or phones or Windows Phone 7 don't require any extra licensing either (or any charges per app/device), which makes them a great way to easily expand your business and manage multiple inspectors at your whim. Need more information? Just drop a ticket to 3D tech support from our website.
