I don't get the choice. It just shuts me down. Now I really don't dare unistall.

Also, I was unable to uninstall a previously-installed InspectVue library of naratives on the spare laptop.

Lorne's not anwering his cell phone either.

What a mess.

Kenton , give me a call. I've helped out several InspectVue guys latestly with tech support issues. I can do a remote session and see if I can figure it out. 888-750-4777. Or come to http://www.homeinspectorpro.com and click on Live Help so we can do the remote directly. I'll be here for another 2 hours, then I need to get ready for a trip to Texas tomorrow.

You may need to right click and go into properties - compatability in order to run in a different "mode"

Need to right click on the program icon or file name, not the shortcut.

Hey is Kenton at your place? I just got off with him a few seconds ago!

No problem I've had some practice from other guys asking lately.

DOMINIC IS MY HERO!

Jumped in there and straightened it out in less than a minute. He did as you suggested Richard, set it up to run in XP and as an administrator.

Thank you, Dominic!!

For those of you who don't know, Dominic created Home Inspector Pro

Inspection software with an excellent reputation and great support!

Glad you got it working Kenton. Dominic is a great guy.

As an InspectVUE user myself for the last 3 years, I was enticed when I saw the ability to use
all of my narratives in one fell swoop, using a tool that Dom clued me onto...InspectVUE Library converter
I'd think about trying the "InspectVUE Library converter" from HIP.
It takes your narrative library and pulls the whole shebang into HIP,
and voila!, you've got a template that almost mimics PV residential.
You can demo his software til your hearts content, then just install a license once purchased.
A great option for those contemplating the switch.
I converted to HIP during the Christmas holidays, and I'm glad I did.
My yearly support contract was coming due for PV, and at $250/yr.
I wasn't looking forward to writing that check, and I've rationalized
that the purchase price minus the Christmas discount minus the upcoming support payment to PV,
made it the right time to change to HIP.

Now I'm enjoying customizing my software, and making it just the way I want it to look,
as well as producing a great looking report.
And I still have all my PV narratives I took so long to customize over the years...
Best of luck,
Steve

WOW....man oh man, I would have been even more pissed if I had paid the 250 and could not get in touch with anyone for three day.....holy mackerel....!!!...or as Jeff stated LIVID....!!!

Kent, you better get Dom's software, screw all that nonsense you've been going through...and frankly I think Dom's software creates a better looking report than PV also.....without the 250 a year for unsupport....crazy...!!!

PV is also pdf only. And considering some of the trouble some of us have with pdf (duffy), the html option in HIP is very nice.
