Not to diminish Dominic's contributions and customer service, he's awesome...but, there are others out there that provide top-level service as well. I've been using my report generation s/w now for about 5 years and have always had great support. Case in point, last Friday I ran into a problem generating a report and I knew I was the culprit as I had been tweaking my report template for use with Texas' new SOP and Form. I just couldn't figure out how to fix it so I called the s/w company HQ in San Antonio and was leaving a voice message (remember it was Friday evening at 7:15 pm) when the owner picked up and said "Hey Mike, I hear you were leaving a message about a problem, let's see if I can help". We chatted a couple of minutes about the issue and I let him log onto my computer remotely using LogMeIn and he checked a few things but couldn't immediately rectify the problem. He said to hold on while he got Eric, his lead programmer in Scottsdale, AZ on the line, which he did and Eric corrected the problem within 10 minutes and all was well. Point to all that is there are still some companies out there that treat their customers very, very well. I sent them a Bravo-Zulu...let's see if they know what that means.

I was also a PV user, and I stress was. I to had a support problem with no response. I can not say that about Dom. If you are even hinting about switching you HI program, take a look at HIP. You can not go wrong

As a current PV user, I emailed their HQ this morning with a "Are you still in business" message. It is now 1:35 EST and I have not received a reply. Starting to worry, I may have to dig into the HIP program purchased 12/31.

I am very concerned regarding the lack of response by Porter Valley tech support to fellow home inspectors. I personally have not had an issue recently, but following this thread, I can only hope that there is some "circumstance" that is preventing Lorne from doing his job. If there has been a change in company dynamics, I would surely hope that Lorne would step up and address the issue. With that being said...I just purchased Home Inspector Pro software on the off chance that Porter Valley is done.

I do not believe that Lorne is involved with Porter Valley any longer.

Stephen,
Do you have any information to substantiate your statement? I would sure like to know what's going on over there.

After reading thru the post I was going to suggest calling Dominic. But as Dom always does he stepped in and helped out someone in need. I was glad to see Kenton get his report out.

Way to go Dom!!

Thank you so much, Richard.
I'm sure I will be contacting you. I cant believe that if Nick knows something, he is not letting us in on it. I would think he would be able to say more than just "go with HIP now". Very interesting comment, don't you think???
