The Professional Home Inspectors Institute (PHII), a division of Training Learning Certification Inc. is now providing FREE online access to our Field Training Manual on their website at www.phii.com .

The Field Training Manual is the core training used in our Field Training Program. It includes more training about how to perform a home inspection than is available anywhere else. More than 17,000 screens (pages) of training.

PHII's Field Training Manual should be read by every person who is performing or is planning to perform a home inspection, and that is why we have decided to make it FREE to access (remember that it is copyright protected material and you may not copy it or use it in any way that has not been authorized in writing).

Dig this advice for Washington State inspectors

The house is rated as below average relative to its peers. The structural system data sheet shows that the original floor joists are close to the earth and that there is extensive damage to some of the joists seen there.

In jurisdictions which forbid the home inspector from mentioning wood borers or from identifying wood borer damage, the report might make the written recommendation that the home buying customer engage the services of a professional pest control company for more detailed information relative to the damage.
