Gotta remember that an " Electricians " use of a Voltage Ticker is different in some cases than a " Home Inspectors" use of a voltage ticker.

Take this statement made on the site David refered to:

Beware of False Negative Readings

Keep in mind that a non-contact tester detects the difference in electrostatic charge between the surface of what you’re testing, and you. If what you're testing has an outer layer that’s well-grounded, you'll get a negative reading, even if voltage is present on the conductors. For instance, metallic conduit will prevent a non-contact tester from sensing voltage on wires inside it. This is because the electrostatic charge is drained off (bled off) to ground by the conduit, which is (or ought to be) solidly grounded.

Keep in mind....as HI's you are trying to detect IF the metal conduit is in deed conducting AC Voltage...not if the wires inside are conducting AC Voltage...big difference in the rhelm of the HI's safety.

lol...David...most Abode programs have a ROTATE option...simply choose the VIEW option and then rotate the screen via the software...lol...not the whole freakin screen.....lol
