Just to clear up any misconceptions unlike others who are in official positions, I am not here speaking in any official capacity, nor do I hold any official positions within any home inspection association. Unlike a few others within CAHPI-OAHI such as the Editor in Chief of the Canadian Home Inspector Magazine I am free to comment as I wish, but cannot be accused of abusing
Those that represent a so called official self regulating body need to remind themselves of their positions and what they represent and what they have relayed. There can be no mistaking their roles and their positions since their positions are well known. So much so that at least one has resorted to false identities to ensure his name is not associated with his editorial roles and official capacity. |

I just happen to have a lot more information on one particular topic than almost anyone else, and I am happy to share it. Neither my presence here nor at the convention is sponsored by CAHPI. They are aware of it, but have neither encouraged or discouraged it." Bill Mullen |

Bill can you give use an update to what the final out come was with all the PDI inspections that the Canadian Home Inspectors where to be going to do .
Many Home Inspectors spent a lot of money to become Qualified and I have heard nothing after the following letter.. I am wondering how we the Canadian Home Inspector can be sure the NC is not going to go the way the (Whistler PDI inspection training) seems to have gone . Great ideas that seem to have fallen apart. Roy Cooke __________________________________________________ ______________ Read below and Weep!!!!!!!!!!!___________________________________ ______________ ______________ #&$&(* wrote: As one of the attendees at the conference, I offer the following comments. I'm sure the organizers were pleased with the turnout at the conference, however I became quite disappointed during the first day session where it became evident that the PDI inspection training session was not playing out as I and others had been led to believe it would. What I had understood was going to take place was that those of us attending this session, plus any who attended future training sessions, would be the only people capable of carrying out what was to amount to approximately 220,000 PDI inspections annually across Canada, and that this was something that was about to be inplemented in the very near future. As things turn out, the home building industry has not yet agreed to or climbed on board with this initiative; that even when (or if) they do, this is not going to be a mandatory process; that there is no restriction of any kind on who may carry out this type of inspection once it does come to be; that their are two completely separate types of inspections for which protocols are being developed (one is a Performance inspection and the other is a Contract Compliance inspection) and it will be entirely at the buyer's discretion whether any of them are carried out, and the cost will be coming out of their pocket. The session also was not an official training session but more of a discussion and information and idea-sharing exercise with no clear answer at the end of the day what exactly those of us who attended had achieved. A diploma/certificate was recieved although it was not made definitively clear just what value this diploma might actually have. Attending the PDI course was my only reason for attending the CAHPI conference. With a rather significant cost of over $1,500 to do so, I figured that with the expectations being talked about with this new initiative, that it would certainly pay for itself. The rest of the sessions I found somewhat interesting but certainly wouldn't have considered going to Whistler for 4 days if it had not been for the PDI course being put on, not to mention the cost of leaving my one-person business unattended for that period of time. I heard similar comments from other attendees so I know I'm not the only one who thinks there was some pretty siginificant misinformation being distributed prior to the conference about what the PDI training session was supposed to entail. I will be more careful about any similar types of training sessions such as this in the future. http://www.nachi.org/forum/f48/lets-not-forget-whistler-4935/ Need help on inspection call my cell 613-827-2011 I like email Roycooke@hotmail.com Never wrestle with a pig (however titled) as you just get dirty and the pig has all the fun. |

We all Know Dave is trying to show how silly he is .
I think the thing that pi$$e$ him of the most is to be ignored . I have decided no matter what name he post's under I will just ignore him and have a good laugh about it because I know he is going to be upset . He has a bunch and when they do not work he tries another . We can all talk about him and his silly aliases on Saturday , his ear's will be burning knowing how we all will know how silly he is . I expect Bill will do his usuall shuffel and say nothing or he just might go and Hide again he does both when he has no answer. Roy Cooke ..... Royshomeinspection.com . It took less than two days for you to break the 'truce' that I thought we had all reached so we could move forward. Sorry Roy, I will not lower myself to your level and start throwing crap. I made it clear several days ago that I would not be answering anything until May because of the treatment I have received. In fact, in light of the hostility, lack of respect, and obvious lack of any desire to get along with anyone who dares to disagree with you, many questions just might go unanswered for even longer. To clarify something that seems to be missed by some of you..........CAHPI does not need you to participate in the National Certification Program. We already have enough people eagerly interested to make it viable. All CAHPI needs to do is make it available and offer to explain the details. We have done both. I have offered a number of times to provide information, and all I asked in return was a bit of respect. If you don't have the information you need to make the correct decision, it's because you decided to "shoot the messenger". Please try to get along. I can't understand why you are determined to be disruptive. I will not become involved in a useless dialoge with you now or anytime. My private e-mail is still available for politely asked questions.(But not by you, Roy, under any circumstances) Bill Mullen |

He again unfortunately has shown his contempt for me . While I am sorry for Bill he always continues to show he can not take any criticism but he sure does like to Post his openions . I am so glad Bill comes to our NACHI BB to see what is going on and to keep him self up to date . It is so unfortunate he does not allow any one to talk on his BB the way he talks on ours . It is also to bad the CAHPI BB was shut down so that many who wish information about CAHPI could get it . Bill was Chair when so many things where started and fell on their *****. This CAHPI is the same association who has not acknowledged that NACHI offered their members The opportunity to attend the NACHI Conference at NACHI Members prices . This CAHPI is also the same Association who has not acknowledged that they Could Have a free both at the NACHI May Conference in Toronto . This CAHPI Association did not make the same offer to NACHI members to come and see how well they run a conference and all the displays that where there . This Bill Mullen is the same Guy who offer an Olive Branch new years 2005 and broke his word in less the 12 hours and he has the nerve to ridicule me on our BB when we the NACHI members get very littel information on what he says about us . Bill likes to give it out but can not stand it coming back . Bill I could work with you tomorrow as I do not carry a grudge but unfortunately I do not think you could sit and talk with me with out getting upset . Happy New year to you and Carol fro Char and Roy http://www.nachi.org/forum/f48/lets-not-forget-whistler-4935/Roy Cooke PS. Bill I have never been asked to set up a truth with you . Would I , I would love to but have a hard time thinking you mean what you say, past records show me what you are really like .
