That's right, George, it would not have been too late south of the border, it was unavailable at any price. It has nothing to do with timing.
One of the ways of determining the true cost of our 'free' health care system is to compare our unemployment rate with that of the United States. All the extra taxation to pay for the ' free ' health care, raises the cost of doing business in Canada and leads to that higher unemployment rate. What is the true cost of Canada's 'free' health care system? One way to find out is to ask the man who cannot find a job and whose children go to bed ( if they have one) hungry.
Good points, George, but then why is our economy in so much better shape than America's?. The spread between rich and poor is much wider down there.

The bottom line is that government, whether they are Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative have all screwed it up. Our kids and grandkids are inheriting a total mess, and I don't see anyone on the horizon with the vision to make it all better.

Unavailable anywhere, or just in Detroit?

" so much better"? The guys formerly employed in the auto industry might disagree. I'd have to ask where you get your numbers to back that up ( not disputing just asking for sources) Remember that the Canadian Economy tends to lag the American by 6 - 12 months.

Agreed and agreed! The problem is that politicians know that if they give us back our money we will vote for them. The one who gives out the most cash wins ! And we keep voting the buggers in.

There's always you and me Bill !

Fellow Businessmen/Executives:

As the CFO of this business that employees 140 people, I have resigned
myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our next President, and that
our taxes and government fees will increase in a significant way. To compensate

for these increases, I determined that the Clients will have to see an increase in
our fees to them of about 8%. However, since we cannot increase our fees right

now due to the dismal state of our economy, I will have make necessary cuts in
other areas. Among other belt tightening steps, it's been determined that I will
have to lay off eight of our employees instead. This has really been eating at me
for a while, as we believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who
will have to go. So, this is what I did. I strolled thru our parking lot and found 8
Obama bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will
be the first to be laid off. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem.
Obama supporters spoke loud and clear that they wanted change; I gave it to them.

If you have a better idea, let me know.

Seems like firing someone for their political affiliation would be good grounds for a law suit.
