Default Draft Legislation for BC

http://www.cahpi.bc.ca/miscellaneous...egislation.pdf

I guess this is one of the Provinces Mr. Mullen referred to in regards to Licencing. Why he chose to keep it a secret in his comment when he stated 3-4 provinces were considering using the National as a benchmark for licencing, is anyones guess.

Angry Re: Draft Legislation for BC

Ray Where and how do you find this stuff?

Section 22. 1. a. calls for certification by CAHPI as a condition getting a licence
Section 22. 1. b. allow for untrained inspectors to granted a licence if they have the blessing of CAHPI.
Also CAPHI code of ethics will be code that has to be followed.
It’ time for NACHI to step up and present our case otherwise we will be stuck with CAPHI and if you think they are insufferable now God help us if they get this legislation through.

Has this been submitted to the government or is it a proposal that is just a draft by CAHPI?

Vern

I am very knowledgeable and all seeing!

The SOP and COE are virtually the same, I don't see why one COE would have to be followed over that of another.

Besides just look what P2P has managed to do with its draw, given that the president is a BOD member of Oahi and CAHPI and has just been appointed to the Certfication Council. All this has been done without input or ratification or solicitation of the members. Nice. For CAHPI to start preaching ethics and standards is another matter. We all know they are blowing air with much of what has been said by their Spokesperson who can't get the story straight.

Were are all the other voices? People had better start waking up from la la land. Their future is changing and being decided by others. Others who have ulterior motives, special interests, et ceteras. Don't say I haven't told others so, I have been saying it for years. It is changing and possibly not for the better because it is being misrepresented.

I think one way to fight the creeping tide is to contact the people who might be involved in voting on this legislation. Who would be the person to contact regarding BC?

If each NACHI member in BC was to write to their MP that would at least create some questions in their minds.

I wonder if this (The Homeowner Protection Office was recently asked by the government to undertake a survey of the marketplace. This has been completed and we are awaiting Victoria's response.) ( This was takled about in the above post ) is to be realesed so we all can see what was said.
Good information thanks Roymond.

I wrote an email to my BC MLA alerting him to the situation, and making a point of telling him about NACHI. I think it is important to keep bringing NACHI into the forefront.

Haven't had a reply yet, I'll keep you posted.

I think it would be a good idea to submit draft legislation on behalf of NACHI Canada.
