Average house cost in Edmonton is $341,000.00 an increase of 52% from last year.
It's nuts.

In the paper this morning. "The average price of a new single-family detached home will soar nearly 38% in 2007 nudging close to $500,000.00 - An increase of more than $200,000.00 in the last 3 years" It will be an interesting Spring in Calgary again!!!

Funny you should mention that. I just helped my retired parents move on the weekend into a beautiful 5 yr old, 2 bedroom condo on Rocky Ridge Dr in NW Calgary. It’s small, only around 800 ft, but it’s got an on-suite and a club membership plus tons of other perks. Nice place, clean as a whislte. And they picked it up for around $240K. Thank god we got them moved in while the weather was still relatively reasonable. Wouldn’t want to be moving them today, got to be like –25 out there!

They say things are going to soften slightly here later this year, but not by much. Not enough labour, that's the weak link.

Hope the market improves from last year as far as inspections went. No-one was doing them.

I have to say, Allan, things are still a little slow for me. Probably because I'm not doing enough marketing. Also, a lot of offers going in without home inspections I'm afraid.

I know. l I think it was somewhere in the $240s though. For sure it wasn't $250K, that I know. Nice place. I wish it was close enough for me to pop by and use the amenities.

I'm in the Marlboro Park area off of Memorial drive and 52nd Street. You?

I'm hoping that it picks up and is better then last year around this time. Don't fel like renovating or going into maintenance again.

Been doing a lot of researching on marketing and other inspection related issues but haven't activly gotten out yet and purchased the materials.
Still looking for good reporting system for inspections. Gets confusing after seeing so many demos however, 3D looks okay so far. Don't know.

Still okay for coffee if you get time.
