Who's loss is that?

I would buy one,but not in the budget right now.I was given a demo in Vegas from one of the vender's,I think they are great!

See post #1 for previous comments.
It was a four hour presentation two hours was about the infrared cameras and the other two hours was a demonstration of a mould dog. The mould dog owner/handler stated that nothing comes close to the efficiency and accuracy of a trained mould dog. Nothing equals the dog for mould detecting and locating mould. I think the unstated intent of the two presentation was to show that infrared cameras were not suitable for mould detection

Exactly. The camera is used to search for possible moisture intrusion which doesn't necessarily mean mold.

I've got nothing against the infrared cameras. Like I said we must embrace technology if we are to move forward. We've got the steep price and reluctant realtors working against us. Once the price drops and they start to become more acceptable I'm going to buy into them, until then I'm sitting on the fences. If there was a choice on the pole I'd consider myself a "jumping in the second round not right off the bat"

Every SOP I've ever read says we do a visual examination of the readily accessible systems and components of the home.

I'm afraid you will open the door to huge liability if you did an infrared exam and missed or miss-reported something.

Just a thought

Why are we so worried about law suits? If I decide to go with Infrared I would take Flir's interpretation course and their report writing course and more then likely purchase their reporting software. I would market the service as something in addition to HI but would not combine them.

When this embarrassing fiasco is over, the names behind it will live on: Raymond E. Wand, Roy D. Cooke Sr, and Norm Bushman. I got absolutely NO problems with that.

Ray,
Last week you bragged about getting a computer friend to hack the bugmenot account and then claimed it for yourself. Nuff said.
And FYI Ray, there really is only one Norm Bushman, and I'm not from eastern Ontario, not Gil Strachan, and not Dave Bottoms. Really! But if you want to believe I am, so be it.

Infrared cameras also find areas which may not be insulated. Its not just a device to find moisture.

The RCMP have used them to find grow houses, buy looking for heat loss.
