The CanNACHI boys got in to Boulder today. I just left them at the bar 20 minutes ago.

Nick,

I'm assuming that the cheque was a refund for Joe Farsetta's Commercial Course in Kingston.
For the record, I asked Joe to give Roy a refund since he was not attending the course and Joe agreed. Bill DeVries declined to give Roy his money back based on the fact that Roy had registered for this course and essentially prevented someone else from attending. The course was jamb packed with attendees and therefore Bill had to turn other inspectors away from attending this course. IMO Bill made the correct decision.
Roy Cooke is a very selfish old man; he prevented a fellow inspector from attending this class by registering for it, not attending, and than demanding his money back!

Way to go Roy!!!

And I don't think I said you did.

Let's be clear hear.
More could be done by those who control the MB to ensure non members are legitimate and not holding multiple accounts or post under fake names to cause trouble.

It is not being done.

What I claimed was that Jim Bushart was incorrect in thinking that blocking someone's IP (which we can do), blocks the person from posting. It doesn't. They can just get a new anonymous IP. Google "proxy ip" for more informstion.

Now if these were internal numbers being generated as people sign in to their account, how are they limited? And how would an exterior company have access to internal numbers? The computer / router that designates the IP address must have limitations, correct? Otherwise the computer could accidentally designate a number that could potentially correspond to another ISP.

Just curious. I don't know the answer but this is an interesting item to learn about. Below is part of the information from a search. It's all Greek to me...... Thanks for clarifying.........if possible.
Stephen,
It it a very confusing explanation. For a period of time I was MCSE certified and it is amazing how much I have forgotten how to do in 6 years.
Basically all the big companies have usually one IP address assigned to them. That is because they thought 255.255.255.255 x 255.255.255.255 would give everyone all the internet addresses the world would ever need. They found out about eight years ago it would be nowhere near enough and the new IP addresses (IP6)can actually have 6 sets of numbers. This will
will provide all the addresses they feel the world could ever use.

SO for now when you set up a private network with your own router at home, most of the routers are configured with and address of 192.168.1.1 or very similar. Literally millions of router have this address. So your default gateway to the internet will be this address to the "dynamic" address your ISP will have and your router will look for when you obtain an account with them.

Bottom line is, if you regularly use one account the ISP can pinpoint your particular computer. Case in point... Here in Ontario a cop in Toronto (he retired about a year ago) would go online pretending to be a thirteen year old girl who wanted to leave home. He took out some pretty sick predators who would try to lure this girl out of town. One day he went online to see what sickos were out there. He "talked" to a guy who wanted to sell him some child porn. The cop set it up and began a trace. Within an hour they traced the the computer connection to a house near Kitchener. He was able to get the local OPP to bust the door down on the house and they found the guy was sexually abusing his 3year old daughter to make his garbage. This was the final case that got to him. He has a million stories of sick people he was able to pinpoint through their ISP's.

It can be done
