I am surprised at how many non NACHI home inspectors are not very good in Mathematics.
This week end as an example there are more prize values being given out then 25 memberships could pay for.
This is for members only.
I am so pleased to say I have been fortunate to have won enough prizes to pay for membership for many more `years;.
The non members also do not get to see the whole BB.
I have no idea on the value of rewards given last year but it is huge.
NACHI and it's sponsor's are fantastic Thanks to all.

Agreed. Nick has done a great job of putting together at least $5,000-$10,000 worth of prizes.

I am fairly new to nachi and just begining to take advantage of all these great oportunities that are available to all members, such as freely interacting with other members, continuing education, free stuff and most important having a good leader with good insight. Thanks Nick....
Members should tell other inspectors to check out Nachi.

I plan on joining as soon as I finish my course with Carson Dunlop, should be early summer 08. I am really looking forward to it, I come to the NACHI website everyday as it is has valuable information. I think the membership has great benefits.

I am definitely interested in the outcome of the licensing in BC and what role it will play on new inspectors.

Anyways, I would like to introduce myself and if you like you can check out my website at http://www.applehomeinspections.ca I'm sure it will have a NACHI logo on it soon.

Well said David I have belonged to NACHI,CAHPI,OAHI,and ASHI.
I found know how little they have done for the average inspector and now only belong to NACHI.
From what I have seen NACHI has done more for all inspectors Members and NONE Members by many many 1,000 % the all other associations combined .
The advantages and education I have gained from NACHI is Fantastic over all the others.
I feel there is no reason why any Home Inspectors can not be better off by joining NACHI and making use of the Great help from the membership, it is terrific.

They are not the same association. One is provincial and one is National.

Some members of OAHI use the CAHPI logo only with no mention of CAHPI-Ontario under it fwiw.

Gee call it any way you want to Bil,but a lot of the Money I gave to OAHI was wasted in trying to support OAHI and much of it went to CAHPI.
If as you say did not make me a CAHPI member fine .
Looking back I sure can not see the advantage of either association OAHI or CAHPI as they do so little for the Home Inspection Industry.
They both are a closed to any communication with the rest of the Industry .
Seems strange to be president and not a member ?.

Yet on your website at: http://www.bluewaterhomeinspection.com/

It reads:

"To ensure that your inspector is a qualified professional, select one who is a member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors and the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors."

You are also preaching that only the "NCA" rigorously tests home inspectors, yet on your website it reads:

"CAHPI is the only national non-profit professional organization in Canada that rigorously tests home inspectors."

What goes here father Bill?

As I have said a few times before, I have someone redoing my website. All that stuff is old. One reason it's being redone is to do away with any ambiguous or wrong information that the webmaster unwittingly put there. Unlike many, I have no time to or skills to work on my website so I rely on others.

However, the quote from Marcel:
"CAHPI is the only national non-profit professional organization in Canada that rigorously tests home inspectors."

That was correct at the time, but now a couple CAHPI Provinical associations have also started to test their members at a Peer Review inspection. CAHPI owns the NCA and CAHPI has entrusted the NCA to do the work at the national level.

Mr Mels........ this non-member has never failed the Nachi test, nor any other H.I. test or exam I have taken, be they proctored or not.
Since my wife and I are contemplating a move to Georgia sometime in the next 5 years, I took a practice exam for the NHIE. I scored 97. I took this test in the office of my local building inspector, with no books or notes. I know the practice is only a fourth of the actual test, but I thought it was fairly reresentative of what I will be facing when I take the actual NHIE.
