Ray would you not go and man the booth you could vist with some of your old friends from OAHI like Tom and Andrew. I know they would just love to see you and talk about things.

Rob those are the Non-Member prices oahi was 100.00 cheaper for the most part but I included the prices and registration in that link.
I just can't afford to drop that kind of money into a conference that as Ray puts it, not the cream of the crop.
The lessons and continuing education do not prove worthy.
I would man the booth as well for NACHI, heck Id even bring my RV for accomadations, but the courses wont get me farther ahead.
I would be better to drive south and get to the next NACHI conference.

I would love to sit down face to face with Mr. Lloyd, Bennett, Carson and a few others with my lawyer present to set the record straight. I would also be inclined to bring the press to record the meeting for posterity.

Last time I asked Terry Carson face to face about my problems and if he would like to discuss it outside of the meeting room, he replied "no", he wouldn't even look me square in the eyes, he turned away.

I have been to the NACHI Florida Conferences ( I have friends in Cocoa Beach) so hotels there cost nothing.
But Gas and lodging down and back cost less the in it cost me to take a OAHI Conference ,back when I paid OAHI members prices.
The education was so far superior at NACHI for so much less cost.
If they give the OAHI conferences for free I would have to give serious thoughts on if it was worth the gas to go.
The NACHI conferences are for sure far superior to any others I have attended,.

William even if the OAHI rates are $100 less still to much money and if the education coares are similar to Alberta no thanks I'll stay Home.The OAHi conferences that I attened in Toronto and Niarga Falls were better but still over priced.
Ray I will be very surprised if they let NACHI have a booth. If they do someone should check for a hidden camera recording who stop at the booth so they know who to harass later.

The prices are likely high to make up for the descrepencies with the financial short falls in OAHI and falling membership numbers.

BTW, have you seen any quarterly financial reports from OAHI like they are suppose to provide as stated in the bylaws?

I wonder if CMHC will be a sponsor at the next Canadian NACHI conference if they are asked?

You are so correct, and that is how thing happen. Imagine if we all sat and said nothing.... or did nothing.
Let's hope this is a start to a great friendly rivalry, rather than antagonistic rivalry. That way everyone from all sides benefit.
And personally now that I have talked to Tom Lloyd and Aubrey Leblanc, I think you will see OAHI start to progress positively

Did you ask them about the financial info that is to be provided to the membership, which has not been provided? Did you ask them why Mr. Allen was removed from the BOD without following the bylaws? Or how about how other breaches of the bylaws? Or how Mr. Lloyd instructed members on the CAFE to go to the lawyers office to see the financial statements that were not there?

This is so important for more of the membership to let the directors know they are not satisfied with the way things are being done .

You can't change a Dictatorship. Its very apparent that the membership has no say in the removal of Director even though the bylaws are very succint in spelling out how a Director is removed. OAHI is clearly in violation of PR 158. What is even more concerning is a membership that tolerates this and are gullible.

Like many other OAHI members I tried and just gave and moved on and joined NACHI .
Many others just could no longer stand the attitude of the OAHI directors and they got out of OAHI and are no longer Home Inspectors
( Some where good members and fantastic home inspectors ).

I just wish I had done as Raymond has done and stayed a member of OAHI to show others just some of the Many Many short comming of the OAHI directors.

Thats the problem, people throw their arms up and walk away instead of staying, being vocal, and exposing the corruption and seeking change.

It calls into question the whole validity of RHI as it raises questions about what else is being done improperly behind the vail of secrecy.

Clearly Mr. Lloyd and BOD and the BOE under Mr. Carson and Mr. Bennett and the DPPC have some explaining to do.
