I would suggest that there are a number of other "accredited" course providers out there and across Canada. It seems that Carson Dunlop has controlled most of the education; but respectfully there are others that equally meet good, sound occupational standards for home inspector education and they to should not be forgotten about.
Yes and I will also disclose I have a vested interest in one of them. Unfortunately far too often overlooked. I suggest that home inspectors particularly in Canada have a good number of these readily available to them (even through online learning) as posted at the following web link. Check under accredited training. www.nca-anc.com Inspection Support Services Inc. 2) It is payable with a monthly plan. Note: The NCA is a qualification that the insurance companies understand. It has the backing of the CMHC and that goes a long way toward keeping your costs down. 3) The NCA cannot beat your application fee. 4) You can get BC licensing immediately as a Candidate, and do your TIPR at your leisure (within two years). 5) The TIPR is built in to the application fee, which at the moment is $900.00 for non-Cahpi inspectors. (This compares to a total of $480 + 270.) You only have to do one TIPR. 6) Annual fee $200 for non-Cahpi members. 7) Ditto. 9) National, credential is acceptable in every province. 10) I think you are confusing the NCA with CAHPI or OAHI. By the way, I am happy that the ASTT is opening their arms to help BC home inspectors. I am simply putting the NCA information online so that people can make an informed choice. |

And if you are an association with an "equivalency agreement" members of that association get the following:
(1) Application fee of $600 (2) Annual maintenance renewal fee of $100 And for clarification the (NCP) National Certification Program - National Certification Authority is comprised of National Certificate Holders - some holding other association memberships. The NCP is not out slagging, undercutting or stating remarks to put down any other organization. It is not Ontario based - its is national based, with representation from coast to coast with home inspectors, with or without association. It is open and not exclusionary, and is optional. We are not forcing any inspector to join and later become disappointed. Claude Lawrenson - Chair of the National Certification Authority Inspection Support Services Inc. And even now it is not too late for iNACHI to get on board ... what a help that would be for members. |
