I find it interesting that the people that complain that it's going to cost too much are the one's that are afraid that they are going the way of the dodo bird and the buggy whip manufacturer. It seems to me that by saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions is going to save the individual money and the cost is the loss of energy sales and those who sell it. If you burn less it costs less.

That's one of the problems with a true democracy. It only takes half plus 1 to take your property or deprive you of your rights. Fortunately in a Representative Republic with a functioning system of checks and balances and fidelity to a well written constitution these risks are substantially reduced.
