I don't know about you Bob but this one does'nt have so much trouble seeing through the self interest of far too many scientists who are only looking for their next grant check.

The way I see it , if the planet has had similar high concentrations of CO2 in the past when ther were far fewer people, how can the activiity of the current population be blamed for the high concentrations now?
Michael:

It's all about the size of the population we have now that may be affected....no matter who or what caused the warming. Are we going to move whole coastal cities?

When?

How high will and when will the sea rise enough to make it necessary to do as you suggest?

While we wait for Brian to return and tell us how fast the sea level will rise and just how much, here are some interesting stats on the 2007 Hurricane/Tropical storm activity(or lack there of):

2007 Yearly Tropical Cyclone Activity to Date

Note:The link is slow as their servers seem a bit overloaded due to a link on Drudge.

P.S.
I am waiting for the MSM to report the lack of hurricanes this season and and how the scientific consensus got it wrong(again).

I heard one of them last night say that we are going to run out of food, air and water. Sounds like fun.

I am waiting for the "hard science" that links the California fires to global warming.

Terroists and Global Warming Activists have at least one common goal:

Scare people into submission to "their" way of thinking.

Category:Importance of Consensus

"Let's be clear: the work of science has nothing whatever to do with consensus. Consensus is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right, which means that he or she has results that are verifiable by reference to the real world. In science consensus is irrelevant. What is relevant is reproducible results. The greatest scientists in history are great precisely because they broke with the consensus..." - Michael Crichton, A.B. Anthropology, M.D. Harv

Catergory:Importance of Consensus

Can 19,000 American scientists be wrong?

Global Warming Petition

We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind.
There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.
This petition has been signed by over 19,000 American scientists.

At least one of the fires was caused by a boy playing with matches. But perhaps global warming caused him to do that. who knows?
