Default New French-language Inspection Agreement for your review

Hello, French-speaking Members!

Attached is a PDF of our preliminary French-language Home Inspection Agreement. It would be great if any of you would be willing to go through it to catch mistakes, word-usage errors, etc., before we post the finalized version to the Agreements page for easy download.

If you have any comments, please post them in this thread, or you may email me directly at kate@internachi.org.

Please indicate the original text/punctuation, along with your suggested change, and a brief explanation so that we can double-check things on our end.

I'll be posting a French translation of our Code of Ethics shortly.

Thanks!

I believe the dollar sign is placed after the amount.

i.e. "____________$"

Hope this helps

Paragraphe sept qui lit:

"Les parties conviennent que n'importe quel litige provenant de son accord sera classé
dedans seulement dans la cour ayant la juridiction dans le comté dans lequel l'inspecteur a ses affaires principales."

devrait être récrit:

"Les parties conviennent que n'importe quel conflit doit être apporté dans l'arbitrage."

Joe,

Your French above is not proper which is why a professional translator is needed for proper translation.

I added a paragraph to iNACHI agreement being in Québec and all:

1. Le CLIENT confirme sa volonté que cet acte et tous autres documents s’y rattachant, y compris le Rapport d’Inspection, soient rédigés en Français. The Client confirms that it is their wish that this Inspection Agreement and all other relating documents including the Inspection Report, have been and shall be drawn in French.

Thank you !

Hi, Christian -- Is this true? Some native English-speaking/writing people put the dollar sign in the wrong spot (after the digits instead of before), so I'm just double-checking -- thanks for your input!

Marcel -- We used a live human being for these translations, but we decided we need more help from someone whose technical know-how is a bit more advanced.

This is a good paragraph to have inserted. However, you are missing a comma after the word "documents."

Thanks again!

Kate,

This only confirms that English translator(s) should be used to translate French to English; but also, that French translator (s) should be used to translate English to French.

As you most likely know, there was much more than a missing comma in previous French translation's posts of late.

Cheers,

Yes, Marcel -- native speakers make the best translators. Thanks for forwarding our info to Rosemary!

Also, would you mind e-mailing me the Inspectors Agreement that you said you posted on the Forum a while back? It would be nice to have that version to review.

Thanks!

P.S. As far as Marc's "valentine" to me goes, I'm just assuming that all you French-Quebecois are a romantic bunch, and that was just an everyday endearment!

You're a quick learner.

I've re-attached the agreement; it is an earlier version translated with a paragraph added.
