Guys, where is the back up from Nachi? Where is the press release I worked on and sent to HQ? Where is the counter point views to negative press releases? Where is the collective input from ALL Canadian Nachi members? Where is the fair and equal opportunity for NC? Why would anyone submit themselves to scrutiny by the likes of people like Cameron Allen? Why are outright lies permitted to be propogated (i.e 5000 inspectors ALL being certified by 2007). Why are Nachi members who sought NC and applied with the first 100 not told whose discipline they will succumb to? Why is tax payers money going to a certification body that is nothing but a clique appointing one another to key positions? Why is taxpayers money going to a body that is and has shown it cannot even hold open elections and sourcing out without competitive bids? Why are members who hold dual memberships being threatened and persecuted?
Who is going to control your destingy and your interests and representation? Why, why, why? Lots of questions, very few if any answers or apparent interest. Suck the hind titt and bury the ole head in the sand. Typical Canadians. |

Ok
I have accepted a position with Nachi. I am not sure at this time what the title will be but am hoping Director for Canada. Nick may not go for this but we will see. Somebody had to step up to the plate and since no one else did I decided to . Tyrone stepped down for reasons known to him and created a void. I could not, in good concience, allow the idea and the reality of the Canadian contingent to go down the tube from lack of direction. I have been in touch with John Bowman recently and he expressed a disire to not see Canada go the way of the dodo.I am going to need a ton of help in the very near future and we will see who is willing to go the extra mile and who is blowing smoke. I have been following these threads closely and posting little to get the feel of what is happening. The frustration is evident. Work with me to get this going and I will do my best to impliment your ideas and thoughts with head office. To Ray Wand Send me the press release and I will put my name and title on it so we can send it to Ottawa and the Minister for CMHC. I will say that unless we get a good response from the Canadian members as signitors that it will not amount to much. To Roy Cooke I will need your input as to what is happening in that part of Ontario and your thoughts regarding what we have to do. To the rest of Canada I need representation from the likes of Vern and Brett out west and please, There has to be somebody in the east who is lurking around the message board who will step up. I will be in touch with all the people who attented the meeting with Tyrone and Deanna Willis in the spring and I will be asking for help. I cannot do it alone. I have asked head office for the Logo for Canada and the Trade Mark paperwork. When I receive it it will be made available to all Nachi Members. If you choose to, use it, it will show support for the cause. So maybe we will still have a NACHI Canada or Canada NACHI. Is it possible for the powers of control to send a message to all the Canadian NACHI Members to show support for this?? Just maybe it would show if the members of Canada realy want it or just want to be C.H.I. or do not give a *@#$%?? Come on be counted!!!

Nachi Canada. Forget CMI, ... how about NCI? Nationally Certified Inspector (NCI). Use the CMI platform but change and fine tune it and replace CMI with NCI. If you can't beat the competition replicate their successes. Come to think of it what are the competitions successes?
We need to conduct a poll to find out what is needed and wanted. |

What is (or will be) the relationship between NACHI, InterNACHI, and NACHI Canada? Is NACHI Canada to be a part of NACHI or InterNACHI?

Ray, this is exactly the tub I have been thumping for the last year and a half. We need our own version, home grown, of the CMI. (CNI is a great name!) It will give us leverage on the national scene and take us from a position of victims of this bloated uncontrolled CRAPI programme to a position of influence.
My only concern is that NACHI is still viewed as an arm of the American parent. This attitued is apparent in the halls of Government ( my MP said to me "NACHI, isn't that the American organization?" He had been speaking to CMHC on my behalf) and is promoted at every turn by CRAPI and OAHI to strengthen their position and weaken ours. Ater all, anti-Americanism is the engine that drives left wing politics in Canada and you know who controlls the inner workings of our government's offices. I am not sure that a totally Canadian controlled InterNachi would not be of more use stategically. Congratulations Larry. If I can be of help you know where to find me. Let's get SOMETHING going in Canada before it is too late! |

Like the name CRAPI. As to Nachi how bout..., National Assoc. of Canadian Home Inspectors (NACHI). Why reinvent the wheel? Use what we have already and just change some of the acronyms and verbage?
The conservatives may be in power but the Liberal bureaucrats are still Liberals. Apparently many CRAPI members are Liberals or closeted Liberals. It still boils down to self appointments, self regulating, and non legislated mandate. I self regulate every morning! Oooooops. |

Again, what would the benefits be for a Canadian NACHI or?? be compared to what we have now? How are you going to run it with no funds? Do you still use this site and info, have a branch off of this one or go it on our own so as to be Canadian?? Just some thoughts??

I think a Canadian site already exists.
A Canadian Association that represents members interest to government. It should also be vocal on issues such as licencing (government) not another self regulating body who thinks it speaks on behalf of a few as with see with Crapi. |

I think that having a Canadian arm of the parent group will give us in the association credibility with the Canadian homeowner and prospective buyer. The benefits will remain the same. The ongoing list of upgrades to the benefits of being a Nachi member will continue. Having a voice at head office should allow us to approach things from a Canadian perspective. With the trademark being registered we will be able to seek out providers for things such as medical and dental benefits for the Canadian contingent. If we can negotiate favorable rates for liability and E&O insurance as a Canadian group through the insurance company we will all benefit. When I asked Nick "what now' he responded with "you decide". I plan on doing just that. Obviously, most things will have to be cleared by head office but we can and will expand the benefits to Canadian members. Keep those cards and letters coming folks and collectively we can do what has to be done to improve the status of Nachi Canada.

Thank you for taking this on Larry. I also believe NACHI Canada is the way to go. I qualify for CMI but have not been in the game long enough to take on such a responsibility myself or I would have. Way to go. Roy |
