Radon and Indoor Air Quality Classes in the Kingston area!!

Below is some information on a 4 day class that I can have brought to kingston chapter.

Those in Toronto, Ottawa, Upstate NewYork, and Ohio are welcome to attend.

If you have an interest in this I will forward the information to you and if there is enough interest I can have this course in kingston.

The Radon Measurement course is a fast-paced, comprehensive, 2-day training program with all the information you will need to conduct accurate and reliable radon measurements in buildings. The course is designed for the building or environmental professional who would like to expand their horizons by adding radon testing to the range of services offered.

Optional NEHA exam- $131.25

The fee includes 16 hours of instruction, interaction and practical hands-on sessions, 200 page manual, power-point presentation, lunch both days and GST. Course fees are tax deductible.

In Canada, this course meets Health Canada guidelines for radon measurement proficiency. It is recognized by the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) and the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI).
In the USA, the course is certified by the National Radon Safety Board (NRSB) and the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA).

Whether you are experienced or new at Indoor Air Quality testing, this course will increase your knowledge in the industry. This course is designed for the building or environmental professional who would like to expand their horizons by adding Indoor Air Quality testing to their already profitable business.
Indoor Air Quality class- June 6th & 7th

DAY ONE-
·Understanding the HVAC system and it's components
·Understanding the building’s ECOSYSTEM
·Identification of Allergens (dust mites, cat and dog dander, cockroach) and the ELISA testing method
·How to secure new business from Allergists, Pediatricians and Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists
·Household cleaning tips and reduction procedures for Allergens
·Overview of other Biological Contaminants (mould) including How to use the new DNA testing methodology for moulds
DAY TWO
·Bacteria - most common types found in building problems (Legionella, Salmonella, Coliform) and bacteria as an allergen
·Bacteria Testing procedures and Clearance testing procedures
·NEWLY ADDED: MRSA (Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) inspection and testing!
·Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
·Origin and common sources of VOCs
·VOC inspection and testing procedures for Sick Building Syndrome.
·Overview of other IAQ issues - radon, lead, asbestos

If we get 12 people they will bring the course to kingston, if not then it will be elsewhere

Hey Girls & Guys,

This is an opportunity that doesn't come to our doorstep very often, let's not let it get away from us. We can all use traininng and it's good knowledge whether or not we plan on doing those specialty inspections. I often wished I had more knowledge in other areas when briefing clients on their inspections. It all comes into play at one time or another.
Get your replies to Bill before it's too late and we have to spend additional $$$$$ to get the training elsewhere.

Bill,

The Oakville class was canceled for the IAQ class. I registered for it and ESA still has my money.

Count me in for the IAQ class.
