WOW! CAHPI expects to get over 200 to the CAHPI conference .
NACHI held a conference in Toronto a few years ago and had over 200 in the first two hours .
I think the count was about 3,000 home Inspectors from USA and Canada .
John Bowman and Paul Hinsberger put up a sign to give out the NACHI awards and in 3 hours got almost 200 to the Swiss Chalet dinner .

Home inspectors gather in Kelowna

More than 200 of Canada’s top home inspectors will attend the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI) national conference here at the Grand Okanagan Resort from September 30 to October 2.
“No other organization in Canada brings the cream of the construction industry together with the best home inspectors in Canada to solve problems and clarify issues and techniques,” says Bill Sutherland, CAHPI National President.
The CAHPI National Award for Innovation and Leadership will be presented during the convention to Premier Gordon Campbell and the Government of British Columbia for its leadership in Canadian consumer protection in making British Columbia the first jurisdiction in Canada to license home inspectors.
“CAHPI (B.C.) worked hard for years to have the province introduce licensing for home inspectors,” says Chris Stockdale, CAHPI (B.C.) President.
“And in 2009, the B.C. government established a licensing program, making B.C. the only province in Canada to demand standards from its home inspectors. The CAHPI National Award will be presented in recognition of B.C.’s leadership in beginning the process to establish high standards for home inspectors.”
“Even with licensing in place, British Columbia consumers are rightfully demanding that inspection standards continue to improve, that the standards in place for inspectors be the highest possible,” says Stockdale.
“When people are contemplating the purchase of a home — likely the biggest purchase of their lives — and they look to a home inspector to help them make an informed decision, it serves everyone when the standards used to license that home inspector are the highest they can be. CAHPI(B.C.) will work diligently with the B.C. government to ensure those standards for consumers are the highest.”
The Hon. Ben Stewart, Minister of Community and Rural Development and MLA for Westside-Kelowna, is expected to accept the CAHPI award on behalf of the BC government.
“Achieving excellence is the theme of the three-day conference and raising the bar on standards required in home and property inspections across Canada will be among the prime subjects discussed at the event,” says Stockdale.
Conference participants will attend sessions on foundation and basement defect recognition and solutions, recognition of grow ops, log home construction, building envelopes, thermal imaging, mechanical and plumbing defect recognition, and other subjects.
