Look guys, I've found mold in air handlers, duct work, on pipe insulation ect,ect...
It aint rocket science. All I asked was if I could become a member of IAC2 once I passed the INachi mold course. Plain and simple. Seems like some of you guys act like you the only...

Scott I agree, I asked on the forum the other day ago what tools I would need to get if I wanted to do mold inspections because my father did mold inspections and he passed away a couple months ago so I wanted to carry on the tradition.....This is what Douglas Wall wrote..."This is great, just printed it and posted it on our bulletin board in our office. A suggestion from one of my coworkers. People wonder why Texas, Arkansas and Florida passed mold inspection laws.
Eric,Get some training, lots of training, then about 40 to 60 hours of continuing ed each year."

There are a few bad apples in here but for the most part people are pretty supportive.

Scott, I believe your correct about this. I think there may be additional steps to become a IAC2 member, but not sure exactly what they are; most likely just filling out the applicaiton form or somthing like that. I'm currently doing the Radon Course, and plan on becoming a IAC2 member apon completion. If you find out more before I do, let me know!

Greg,
That will work. After you do the course, go to the IAC2 website and complete the app. You'll be a member right off. Good luck to you.

Remember,
IAC2.org has the most restrictive entrance requirements.

AC2 Certified inspectors have fulfilled the following minimum requirements:
  1. IAC2 Certified inspectors are all members in good standing of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) which is the largest inspection association in the world with strict membership requirements.
  2. IAC2 Certified inspectors have all completed at least one additional 8 hour approved indoor air inspection-related course.
And to be an member in good standing with InterNACHI is very impressive. what it takes to be an InterNACHI inspector.

It's not just an 8-hour course, but a ton of experience and education.
