Today I received an inspection request from an agent looking for an inspector to perform a high-level inspection on a foreclosed commercial office building. He said he was looking for someone who could do a 3-5 hour, high-level, inspection for the investors and provide cost estimates for bringing the property up-to-code.
This is something I’m not comfortable with doing by myself. As a result, I’m making inquiries into other inspectors or companies who would be better qualified than I.
I would like to participate in the inspection for the opportunity to learn more.
My question for you is how would you suggest I propose or structure this opportunity? I don’t want to take on any liability but would like to be compensated, if possible, for bringing them the lead. This type of thing must happen all the time. How is it usually handled?
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, insight, and suggestions with me regarding this.
Sincerely,
John Hedlund
