I can't think of any health/safety risks associated with nailing tack strips onto VCT (vinyl composite tiles). I believe VCT took the place of the asbestos containing tiles/adhesives of earlier.

VCT would be fine. VAT (vinyl asbestos tile) would be a different story. VAT was popular until the early 70's |
