[ASKNACHI]This question was posted on [I]AskNACHI.org[/I] by [B]John Schaffhouser[/B] (from Nashville, TN). [/ASKNACHI]I have been seeing a lot of homes where the plastic strip covering the adhesive strip on the shingles is not removed during instillation. Is this an acceptable practice.

Yes that plastic strip is to keep the shingles from sticking in the package . There is no advantage in removing it when installing shingles .
