[ASKNACHI]This question was posted on [I]AskNACHI.org[/I] by [B]Pamela Bloom[/B] (from New York City). [/ASKNACHI]According to her local fire chief (in the Midwest), stand-alone smoke detectors such as NightHawk are significantly better than the combo fire and CM detectors which don't work well. She asked us to find back-up to recommend stand-alone CM detectors.

Here is a great link to the Barre City Vermont website. Lt Ashe from the fire dept. is a friend of the Foundation for Safer Housing. Some very good studies have been performed over the past few years with some interesting results. Take a look at them all, the results might just surprise you.
