Default Sump Pump Test

How does one go about testing a sump pump for functionality?

Default Re: Sump Pump Test

1. Make sure it has power to the unit.

2. Make sure that there is water in the sump.

3. Lift the float device and release it, see if the unit operates. The unit should shut off when the water level is below the float device shut off setting.

If you do not feel comfortable performing this yourself, contact a qualified plumber to evaluate the sump pump.
