Hello Bruce, business in our area as well as in Gainesville is great! I own several properties in Gainesville and when we visit. I normally book a few inspections while I am there. In Bay, Gulf and Walton County we are pretty busy. Lots of water front homes to inspect + Condos. Regarding your comment to chill out, I do appreciate your comment. But that is not the point. A customer brought the issue to our attention and sinnce he is competing on misleading information to the public and using InterNACHI to back him up it is up to us the members in Good Standing to weed out the intruders.

Oh, by the way, our marketing is doing quite well it reaches out of town clients buying properties in our area and that is exactly what we want.

Here is the email that I got from our police committee:

I sent him a cease and desist, as he is still advertising both on at least one of hs websites.

He does not appear on the CMI site, and he advertised the Honor Guarantee.

He's a sleazebag.

We should deny membership, as he was stealing business from legitimate members with this bogus advertising. I threatened to report his fraudulent behavior to the Florida licensing board if he failed to comply within 24 hours.

After several calls, letters from the association the man got rewarded. Now, he became an InterNACHI member. How about that? The funny thing is that according to Nick he was a former member so, he knew what he was doing but got caught by the public. He should not be rewarded and allow to become a member. That's the point!

Like I said He's a member. No need to go off half cocked.
My other question was "Is he a member of the CMI association?"

He wasn't a member when he put the logos on the website. That is fraud and an attempt to mislead others. What is it about that which can't be understood?

Don't worry, he and a few others in this State won't be operating for long.

He removed the "CMI" logo.

But not the IAC2 Certified Logo, which he apparently isn't.

Just too easy to circumvent for the logo to have any real value.
Tell that to the wives of the Certified Master Inspectors who get to spend the extra money their husbands make by being able to command higher prices than their competitors by explaining to consumers that they charge a little more because they are a Certified Master Inspector.

You've confused real value with perceived value. CMI is the most value-producing thing (for inspectors and their spouses and their children) in all of inspection history.

Default Re: Playing both sides of the fence???

Got an email from a client this morning, new inspector in town:

Same guy, playing both sides of the fence:

Free Wind Mitigation and 4 Point Inspections Free closing gift.

With all home inspections the real estate agent gets a free wind mitigation and a 4 point inspection of the home. It may help close a deal, or just be a good closing gift.

" I have two clients when I do a home inspection, the real estate agent and the home buyer. I am working to keep both happy."

-----------------------------------------------------
A home inspection for $250.00 regarless the size or location of the house + lots of free inspections(4 point, w/m, infra red, crawl space, +).

=============================================
All this is contrary to what Nick preaches and yet he was allowed to become a INACHI member despite of being using our logos and credentials to mislead the public.

Inspector Hourglass Home Inspections

Prices on Home Inspections

There is never guess work when it comes to the price of a home inspection with Hourglass Home Inspecitons. It is always the same $250. It does not matter location, size, or age of the home. It is always the same low price. When you client ask,

"How much is a home inspection?"

You can say with confidence, "$250"

Then you can follow up and say, "I will take care of your wind mitigation and 4 point inspection." It will be our secret, that there is no additional charge.

Check this guy: http://www.hourglasshomeinspections.com/

Any inspection: $250.00 it does not matter how big is the house or where it is (75M radious). How about that. You need Infra Red you go it is free. He is also Infra Red certified.
I am going to defend myself and my business. The inspector that is having a fit over the Internachi logos on my website is my competition. I was a member of InterNachi over a year. I did let my membership lapse. I did not change my website. I was very busy. I wish I could say the same for J. Acaron. I became a member a couple of weeks later. I do use themography in my inspections. I only charge $250.00 for an inspection and I give them a wind mitigation and 4 point. I do not use paper in my inspections. I do everything on a computer. PDF's, digital photos, and the insurance agents love me. I build each inspection a personalized website and I post over two hundred photos of each inspection on it with all the documents. This is America if you can build a better mouse trap and sell it for less, guess what you will sell more. I only do two inspections a day. I only have a few business expenses. I drive a Toyota Camry that I leased for $176.42 a month to my inspections. I have a telescoping 20 foot ladder and a folding 20 foot step ladder. In my car. I save on gas. That is why I charge the same for an inspection up to 75 miles away. I stay very busy. I enjoy what I do. I have been doing home inspections for the last 16 years. I have not done them full time until now. I do admit that I did have the logos on the website when I was not a member for a couple of weeks. Do you think they will give me the chair for that? I hope not. I called my competition to talk to him like a gentleman. He used foul language and hung up on me. His company is Home Inspector USA. I am a United States Army Veteran. I served in the Gulf War. The accent was not of this country. That does not make him a bad person. He does have an American voice on his answering machine. I called him back and found this out. Home Inspector USA and the bogus voice on the answer machine and probably not an American. That is bogus advertisement.
If he does not like the way I do business, then buy my company. If not come up with a better way or a cheaper price. People want more for less. That is just the way it is. It is the American way.
