Perhaps someone from California could answer the question: Why, out of the 51 states and multiple countries participating with NACHI --- does California need it's own, unique NACHI?

What is it about NACHI that falls short, that only a CalNACHI could fulfill?
No answer?

The simple fact of the matter is, a new association has been formed - for better or for worse. It will succeed or fail whether or not it has support from inspectors in other states.

Contrary to Jim's intent with his original post, this forum was not created to debate the merits of CalNACHI.

No debate intended, Jeff. Just curious as to what these "merits" are.

There are California chapters of NACHI. We know the merits of chapters.

What is CaliNACHI and what are its merits, as compared to state chapters?

I would think that your Executive Director would be anxious...not fearful...of bringing these "merits" to light.

Enjoy your eggnog and respond after the holidays, please.

Jim has asked a question that is on the minds of many? It's very obvious (lets not pretend). To tell us not to think about it is not intelligent, let alone reasonable. We are not potted plants. CalNACHI does not have a special permit where we avoid certain questions because this is now the No-Thinking-Zone. What if all 50 states start a My-StateNACHI, is this good for all of us? What is the CalNACHI benefit?

There I said it... oh my gawd.

Let's get real. I am open to reasonable men who don't get their feelings hurt when discussing an obvious question. Where's the beef.?

I still believe that as a corp riding under a NACHI name, it must follow the NACHI SOP and COE.

The bigger question goes to what the new org has to offer California inspectors that CREIA doesnt? A new COE or SOP aint gonna be enough.

The even bigger question is why did CREIA, once the nation's most successful state association, lose most of its members in less than 2 years?

CalNACHI's success depends heavily on answering this question correctly.

I happen to know the answer but when I reveal it, few will understand.

The answer is ASHI.

If the answer is ASHI, then why not the alternative be NACHI?

NACHI has ALL the benefits. What can CalNACHI offer except for a different COE and SOP?

I also stongly believe that in order for any chapter or affilliated organization (whether independent, incorporated, NFP, etc) to be supported in ANY way by THIS organization, the SOP and COE needs to be consistent with NACHI's

period, end of report.

Nick, are you saying (or suggesting) that CalNACHI will be applying more than NACHI's entrance requirements?

So are you saying that CREIA lost its members to ASHI? Like Joe said, it would seem that the answer for an ASHI problem is InterNACHI (and all that comes with it, including benefits, SoP and CoE)

Jim, no. Actually, we're getting many complaints about our entrance requirements. People are saying we've gone overboard and that we simply require too much www.nachi.org/membership.htm I can't imagine CalNACHI requiring more on top of what we already require.

Joe, if having their own COE and SOP isn't alone enough of a draw, how would having the same (as InterNACHI's) COE and SOP be a draw?
