Sometimes something hits a nerve (and so our replies are stronger), sometimes the reply typed reads harsher than it would sound spoken (Anyone who knows me knows I have this problem), and sometimes we're guilty of PUI (posting under the influence).... and then sometimes all 3 are true in the same post.

But they did nothing with it. Just like Democrats. They will come up with good ideas, tout their brilliance, then not follow through. Don't worry, Dan. You can count on NACHI to follow through. Still the same team fighting for all that is wrong within the HI industry. After a short read through this thread it is obvious that nothing has changed in NACHI land. I see the same folks fighting against what seems to me to be the obvious off shoots of NACHI while still holding true to the NACHI name, being shot down by those that are full of themselves and care not for there HI counterparts outside of there own ****ed up version of reality. Just thought I would say hello. TA |

I have read with interest the various posts regarding CalNachi. Everybody has missed the point. While a national organization it an important tool for representation on a national level, it may not provide specialized representation on a state by state basis. Every state, even the "51st state," has specific requirements that a national organization may find difficult to meet. Here is California, the most litigious state in the Union, we have very specific legal requirements that many local people feel need to be addressed by the standards of practice. It is unreasonable to expect one national standard of practice to address every requirement for every State.
As goes California, so goes the nation, perhaps the formation of CalNachi is precursor on what is to follow in InterNachi. The same folks who run InterNachi were instrumental in starting CalNachi. I basically see CalNachi as a subsidiary of InterNachi, the legal description not withstanding. There is a real need in California for leadership that understands the needs of the individual inspector, and by extension, an inspection association. I was a loyal member of CREIA for many years but over time it became clear that it is a very selfish organization. CREIA has weak leadership and does not understand that while education is important, it is not the only important thing. Finally, I was driven away by poorly thought out policies and conflicting leadership. Ultimately, a trade organization must look to the profit of it's members as that is how we feed our families. As an orgainzation it is important to acknowledge the importance of every member's voice, not just the vocal few. Just because a person is loud it does not make him right. Many times the loud voices drown out the voices of reasonable men with good ideas; And reasonable men will not allow their selves to be treated poorly for very long. Good leadership should include every voice, not just the loud voices, and make sure everybody is given due consideration. CalNachi offers an opportunity to create an organization that can address these needs. IT is hard to start such an enterprise, hopefully it will be a success and a template for future state specific organizations.
