Jason and I will put together a blower door package with a thermal imager and training sometime next week as well that will be a deep discount.
Training for the infrared cameras is seperate. There is currently no facility that does both BPI / Resnet building envelope certification and infrared training together. The BPI training is in Phoenix, AZ. It’s very close to Sky Harbor Int’l Airport and it’s supposed to be a sunny 75° today.
You can lease either of these deals (individually) for approximately $37 per $1000 on a 3 year lease. There is a $1 buyout at the end of the lease, and our finance guy will structure it so you get as much tax credit (interest & depreciation) as possible. The $37 is based on an average credit score of 680 FICO.
To conclude, for a full blower door / IR camera package with full certification on both:
Fluke TiR1 / Level 1 Certification
Retrotec Q4E Blower Door System / BPI Certification
Extech MO280 Pinless Moisture Meter
Fluke 971 Temperature & Humidity Meter
$14,006.00
FLIR B60 / Level 1 Certification
Retrotec Q4E Blower Door System / BPI Certification
Extech MO280 Pinless Moisture Meter
Fluke 971 Temperature & Humidity Meter
$14,906.00
By the way, Jason was so kind to Demo two IR Cams at a home with a leaking shower pan or diverter valve yesterday for us (me and Dylan B), the Fluke TiR1 is a VERY impressive Cam…Thanks Jason…!!
Speaking of which, for any guys that are in AZ, APS reinburses $437.50 of the blower door / BPI training back to you. For you guys not in AZ, that do it, I will contact your local BPI facility and/or power company and see what is offered as an incentive.
I will call around tomorrow for the NH area. As far as the classes out here, he is booked for the rest of February. I will find out when the March classes are first thing tomorrow. I will also ask him if APS still does that program for guys that do not live here and still take the class through that BPI facility.
All well and good Nick and I can appreciate that you are putting together packages like this. What about those of us that already have a camera? What kind of deeal can you get us on training and or blower doors etc?
There are thermal imaging cameras similar in performance to FLIR or Fluke that sell for far less money and are supported by training courses for beginners and advanced users. Our model 4010 sells for $3,900.
Before you spend > $8,000 on a camera and training please review less expensive options that have proven to be more than up to the task for home inspection thermal imaging contract work. We rent cameras for $100/day.
