FLIR Reporter 8.3 doesn't work on 64 bit Win 7 . . .

I think I looked into it back when I was dealing with this and determined that it wouldn't work, but I'm not sure, which is why I didn't comment earlier.

I looked into it. I will need to purchase the Virtual XP program because I only have Win 7 Home and not Pro or better.

I didn't go forward with it because I don't think It'll work. If I knew it would work, I'd buy it.

I'm pretty sure that it won't work because FLIR said it's a 64 bit issue and not a Win XP vs Win 7 issue. When I try to install Reporter 8.3, I get a hardware error. I tried to run it in XP compatibility mode also; no dice.

So pick up a cheap laptop or desktop with XP.

That may be how I have to go. The previous computer is hard broke. Otherwise, I'd have that one.

Maybe what you guys should do is stop fighting amongst yourselves and put your forces together as NACHI members and get that upgrade for free for all members. FLIR has already proven that they are willing to listen to you guys if you contact the right people over there.

Thanks for the inputs. So I did try the virtual XP thing. It didn't work.
And I also tried it with a copy of Win 7 32bit - also didn't work. So the problem isn't the 64bit version, but Win 7.

That's very true! Tom "O" Toole is the man. If anybody at FLIR can or will help you out than he seems to be the one to go the extra mile.

I have always had problems with the FLIR reporter, and it has been a PAIN trying to install on all of our work computers. I have started downloading Windows Virtual PC in an older version and running the program through there, but even that has hiccups.

I agree, FLUKE is the way to go as far as software upgrades. Fluke does not charge for the software or updates when you purchase a camera.
