Perhaps Joe could explain his position on how ANYONE
has violated the patent. He never has stated that.

This is what the thread is about. You answered several questions with your post. I appreciate the offer but I am not quite ready to pull the trigger on the camera yet.

I hope others will read your post and make you an offer.

Congratulations on your retirement and best wishes.

Infrared is a no brainer. Who would you hire? The guy who can see moisture and heat or the guy who thinks there might be issues? Really common sense tells me to add one, however, I'm watching all the hype about this patent issue first before I drop my change on the ground. Nick, Joe and whoever else please keep us informed.

From what I have heard... and it made sense... is the following.

You turned on the AC to create a delta T and violated the patent.
NO... my SoP requires that I turn on the AC.

You turned on the light switches to see the load on the system and violated
the patent. No... my SoP requires that I turn on the switches.

bla, bla, bla,

I just happen to use an IR camera while doing a home inspection...
I never read the patent or follow it, in any form or fashion.

Please advise me how I can violate the patent? Proof?

Pretty much sums it up. Looks like Home Safe has cornered the IR market. Like to hear how other's feel they can get around this.

I'll double your bet and say probably about two years from now or less.

The folks at HomeSafe won't sue anyone successfully for any meaningful amount of money.

-They didn't invent Delta-T
-They didn't invent the difference between between interior and exterior temperatures, the ability to measure it, or the ability to manipulate it
-They didn't invent any technology related to IR other than a protocol for using it.
-each element of their protocol was likely invented by someone else

Given these facts, a suit needs to meet one very specific requirement in order to grow legs...the plaintiff needs to be able to show the court that some person or entity caused them to suffer a loss.

In that light, it's unlikely that HomeSafe could build even a weak case unless the defendant was a direct competitor in their market. Anyone with even half a brain could make the HS folks look like idiots in front of a Judge.

If they can't prove a loss...it doesn't matter what else they can prove.

The whole patent thing is a joke. Don't let it discourage you from starting an IR program. You have nothing to worry about.
