Make sense?
The way the price of these Thermal Imaging Cams is dropping in the last year I wouldn't doubt they will be selling in the two thousand plus or minus category in the near future.....

Dale.. Get on board before it's to late.
Stay tuned for an announcement for the Free, to all AZ or other inspectors, 3rd Thur evening, IR energy inspection seminar in May,
Am presently looking for other ideas what local inspectors, think about IR, Pros/ Cons/ and what they want to see in the IR wall, that's in the process of being built, to show different IR applications, also looking for local IR inspectors to share their marketing info, photos, and experiences, with customers or builders, that they have experienced with their findings..
Also looking for inspectors with different types of IR cameras for others to see some of the other cameras out there.

REPLY TO ORIGINAL POST

Hello,

My name is David Brown, and I am the founder and CEO of InspectorTools. I felt it necessary to personally respond to the slanderous comments made by Mr. Delaney.

I have been in the distribution business for over 20 years, during which time I’ve also owned a multi-inspector home inspection firm. In my 20 years of business, I can’t ever recall being slandered so unfoundedly. With over 20,000 customers, if InspectorTools was doing something so horrible, I would think the entire industry would know by now, or at least I would.

I don’t mind constructive criticism - I encourage it. Just be accurate in your account, and don’t avoid the truth because you didn’t get your way. Our 30-day price match policy, which I first implemented into my business 20 years ago, closely resembles that of Best Buy, Circuit City and other nationally recognized chains. It has not changed in 20 years, nor is it false advertising by any means.

One stipulation most of us have in our policy is that the competitor being matched must have the product in-stock. If not, we have the right not to match the price. It’s a simple business decision. Imagine if a competitor in your market offered a home inspection for $50 less, but didn’t have a truck to get to the job, a report to use, tools, etc. Would you match the price? Not likely.

We would have been happy to match the price Mr. Delaney provided, as we have with hundreds of other clients, but the supplier did not have the product in stock and already had a reputation for failing to deliver. From our perspective, the competitor(s) might as well have just advertised the product for “free” since they couldn’t deliver. Regardless, before Mr. Delaney decided to slander us, I suppose he overlooked reading our price match policy, which specifically states: All price matches subject to verification and available inventory.”

Our price match guarantee was developed with a very specific goal in mind. Contrary to popular belief it was NOT developed with the hope of getting every sale, as simply lowering prices to cheaper than anyone else can be construed as. InspectorTools is one of the largest distributors of infrared cameras in the US, and we bring much more to the table than just a low price guarantee. Top-notch training and support with our staff of Level II and Level III thermographers, free camera rentals if needed, free calibration checks…being a good supplier is more than just selling for a few dollar less. It’s being someone others can rely on for accurate advice, good pricing, and most importantly – a lifeline during challenging times such as repairs or defects. InspectorTools should know what it takes – in the past 10 years we have prospered while many others have not.

In closing, I find it very confusing that Mr. Delaney trashes us, tells people not to do business with us, yet continues to try and buy his infrared camera from us. Perhaps his supplier still can’t deliver. All the same, I hope you understand that due to your slanderous comments, Mr. Delaney, we cannot respond to your emails until we resolve this matter.

In the future, if others choose to voice their frustrations and opinions on NACHI message boards, I hope they are professional enough to tell the entire story. Unfounded slander is not only unprofessional, it could have dire financial consequences to the storyteller.

I wish all of you a very safe and successful 2008.

Sincerely,

David Brown
President

Mr Delaney:

We would have been happy to sell the camera to you for $4,295. But much like your postings, you are only sharing a portion of the story.

As I recall, I personally spent upwards of an hour with you on the phone answering all your questions about infrared and the different cameras available. It appears that immediately after our conversation, you discount our time and my professional courtesy to try and save a few bucks. In fact, I think you had your wife call and present the lower price AFTER I had spent the time earning (or so I thought) your business. When I told her about our policy and the no-stock situation with the competition, she got mad and hung up - and you went online to get even.

Never once did you comment about the support I had provided, or the fact that our competition more than likely could not answer your questions. You are ready to make a $4,000+ purchase but won’t reward the people who educate you and hold your hand in the process. That’s okay – that’s how you do business and I can accept that. Just don’t trash us in the process.

And I am sorry if you still can't see the value in purchasing from a source that offers all that we do. Or, for that matter, why we do not match prices from competitors who don’t stock the products they advertise cheaply. (Am I the only one who sees the shame in offering a product for less than everyone else when you don’t even have it to sell? Frankly, if that business model is acceptable to you, we’re not the right supplier for you.)

After all that’s been said, somebody had the nerve of accusing us of false advertising. Go figure. We advertise a fair price, and ship the same day. The competition advertises a lower price, but can’t ship at all, and they are considered a hero.

Regardless of the negative comments, I still wish each of you best of luck in 2008. And hold on – markets always bounce back!

Sincerely,

David Brown

I'm driving down the road and see a sign "Coke 5 cents." I pull in and ask for one. The owner says "I'm sorry, we're all out, but go down the road another mile, they have some." So I go down the road another mile and I see a sign "Coke $3 dollars." I pull in and ask "Why is your Coke so expensive? The store a mile back sells Coke for a nickle." The owner asks me why I didn't buy it back there." I told him that they were all out. He replies "Well, when I don't have any Coke in stock, I give it away for free."

Mr. Brown,

First off, YOU ARE A RIGHT OUT LIAR!!! You get on here and try to make it out that you dealt with me in a professional manner, after somebody contacted you and said your business was getting slammed on the iNachi message board. That's a pretty cowardly way to try to save face.

Secondly, The email reply you posted on here was never sent to me. Hence, it has no caption marking. (Keep in mind, us ole home inspectors aren't always dumb)

Lastly, I will give you your kudos: You did spend some time with me on the phone explaining why I should purchase from you, and why your IR cam was better than everyone elses. But when I asked about the price match, you simply stated that you would not sell it for less than you listed it for, although I found out later that you did price match for a fellow NACHI member (who also gave you the HI Essentials site)?????

You are a true professional. If you choose to misconstrue the truth into slander, you are very welcome to print this out and use it against me in your case.

I will also be telling all who I come into contact with the truth of this matter.

Lastly, Nick Gromicko has went above and beyond to make deals for our membership on just about everything, and is providing a huge market for our supporting vendors. It really serves your purpose to let everyone know you don't stand behind your advertised word. I want to thank you for coming here to confirm that.

Dave

Not sure why I would be calling him if someone else had it in stock for a cheaper price????????

Do you know who you purchased from (salesman)?

Thanks, Dave
Dave, I do not the salesman name. He did however answer when I called again yesterday when I had a question about the free Fluke training taht comes with the camera. I have to agree with the company, Inspectortools.com, on their price match policy. I am very happy with them, and they have always been courteous to me.
