I purchased the BCAM originally and after about two weeks, had it upgraded to the BCAM SD. It's simply a software upgrade and installation of the SD slot.

To run any of the FLIR reporting-software (not the image software), you need to have the BCAM SD. If you never intend to use their software, there's really no need to purchase the SD, just stick with the BCAM for your initial investment.

To use the FLIR software, you must have a camera with an appkit of 2.1.10 or higher and a osimgkit of 2.4.4 or higher, which is included in all FLIR cams other than the BCAM.

You can also upload your FLIR jpegs to your favorite inspection report software just as you would a regular photo - if you are including a thermal scan as part of a home inspection. If you are performing a thermal home inspection as a stand alone service, then simply create a seperate template for this type of inspection and modify as needed.

The BCAM SD can hold 1000 IR images in jpeg format on the removable SD card. (P.S. dont use a bigger size card than the 128 mb that comes with the camera. FLIR said it will mess with the camera)The BCAM SD also has some different alarms for insulation and dewpoint the the original bcam does not have. I bought this model because it has the removable SD card and works well with my PDA based Inspection software. I can edit digital and IR pics into my reports very easily.

For it's price the SD is a fine camera. Just don't expect to find gang bangers from a helicopter at night.

Erol;

Yes you can. I thought that you were writing the

REPORT FROM HELL?

probably just taking some time off, eh?

I do this myself. The NACHI board. Cheap therapy.
