I agree with you. IR training AND cameras are in their infancy and thats a gross understatement. You'll learn quickly that everyone and their little sister is trying to make money off of your camera, and a monopoly will be very valuable to those that create it. You'll learn far more at home playing with your camera than you'll ever learn in existing classes.

Though I do believe that as far as training courses go, John McKenna's course is the best out there (for HI's). If for any other reason, he gets the difference between qualitative and quantitative analysis, and the NACHI prerequisites are spot-on with building science, green building, etc.

I do however have a burning desire to see John re-do his video with a correct pronunciation of "Realtor"... I prefer not to be viewed as a hillbilly, and I refuse to do business with Real-i-tors

Nick, are any of these courses actually taught by professors?

Hi there, folks.
I just took John's webinar over the weekend and thought it was excellent. I truly believe that no matter what you do, your going to get out of it what you put into it. If you have a decent technical background, it makes things easy to understand. When the class was over , I was very excited to get my camera purchased and get to earning $$$ with it. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Fluke TIR.
I'm looking forward to viewing posts here and learning all I can from the ones with the experience and willingness to share.

I am awaiting my new Fluke TIR32 as soon as they come off the production line. I almost paid $1000 more for the camera. Then I contacted John and he set me up and saved me a cool GRAND. In my opinion is people like this we need to support. The people who support NACHI and its members and is a actual HOME INSPECTOR and knows what we go through deserves our support. Once again, just my opinion.

I told everyone that some people save enough from our IR deals
to go on a Hawaiian vacation. Some people thought I was joking.!
Saving a GRAND sounds like some good proof.

Our IR camera deals and training are the lowest in the USA.

To tell you the truth, I got angry a while back at how much people
were being cheated out of so much money, and this was one of
the main factors that motivated me to slash the high prices in
the IR market.

I have received a lot of hate mail and calls from IR vendors, but
InterNACHI is here to stay. Thanks go to Nick, Nikolai and all the
team at InterNACHI for their help.
