Resnet / HERS training & certification with blower door & duct blaster

We had quite a few calls about Resnet training from the other thread with the BPI and LEED training, mostly due to the pending Resnet infrared standard. So I am offering a similiar deal except with Resnet / HERS training. For those that are not familair with the upcoming Resnet infrared standard, you could be able to go back and rate existing structures as an Energy Star home. It would be a post thermal bypass checklist vs the current thermal bypass checklist on new construction. Personally, for just strictly HI's and the infrared community as a whole, I feel the Resnet path is a better option.

The equipment and pricing is the same except you would recieve free Resnet & HERS training with the purchase of our entry level energy auditing package which includes; Retrotec Q46 blower door system, Retrotec Q32 duct blaster, Testo 327-2 o2 & Co2 combustion analyzer for $7,581.25

Training is done via an 8 week program through Saturn Online. You then have to proctor the Resnet core exam (normally done through a local library), then go to Helena MT for 3 days for the field audits, blower door & duct blaster training. Technically you could sit for the BPI exam at the same time for this training.

The new draft RESNET infrared standard for inspection and certification should be available for public comment in a couple weeks. I'll let folks know when and where it is posted and would encourage all to read it and comment appropriately.

The intent is to provide a path for meaningful certification for those who are working in the RESET and Energy Star framework as well as a "recipe" for conducting an inspection of frame buildings that is consistent and comprehensive.

The standard addresses personnel qualification, equipment requirements, conditions for inspection as well as the inspection procedure for both insulation and air leakage and reporting.

As someone who was intimately involved in drafting the document, I am no doubt biased, but I feel it also takes the best of the commonly used inspection standards and harmonizes with them and the Energy Star mission.
