I was walking around talking with all the vendors selling geo-thermal units, 25 seer HVAC units and all kinds of insulation for homes. I spoke with one HVAC contractor who told me that when he sizes units he “adds a 1/2 ton to what is recommended so the house will stay cool in the summer”. It got even better when a woman told me that her triple pane windows were guaranteed to cut my energy costs. Lastly, I almost gave up when the guy selling insulation told me he would give me a free “energy audit”. Thanks and no thanks
