Default Travelling with your camera

Does anyone know if the security x-ray at the airport will harm a thermal image camera?

No...x-rays at airports will not harm your camera. That comes from old days when regular visible light cameras still used film instead of digital storage media. They may stop you and ask that you power the unit on during the check point. Make sure your battery is charged enough so that the unit will turn on or otherwise that will delay your boarding.

No problem, but you can't put spare Li-Ion batteries in your checked baggage. Carry-on is OK.

Thank you Russel, Scott and Chuck. I'm heading to Oregon to hike Mt Rainer next month with my sister and brother in law and thought I would scan their house for them. There has to be more moisture present there than we have here.
